Dream POV:

It was all insane. It was as if the world around him had gone mad. It's like he had gone mad. He had fallen for his best friend so hard that he ended up blurring the line between reality and the land of dreams in his mind to the point of no return. He didn't stream as much as he used to, his face was sunken and pale, arm and legs thin like twigs, torso covered over with a lime green hoodie where a taunting face stared back. Clay lay there, still, on the tiled bathroom floor, squinted eyes looking down at the words displayed hopelessly across the screen.

"Seriously George, I mean it, I love you. More than friends."

"Dream.. I don't think I see you that way, I'm sorry, but we could still be friends! Why don't we talk about this when I get back with Nick?"

Was he insane? Had he finally lost his mind? He had done this so many times before but this time was different. This time it wasn't a dream. He knew because of the imprints made along his forearm, the marks of unimaginable shame that spelled out his thoughts. Or more accurately spilled. A crimson liquid was oozing from the scars, the air itself stabbing at the wound, making the man cringe in pain.

What had he done? Why had this happened?... No.. He knew how he came to this point. He fell for the person whom he held closest and went insane because of it.. At first he began eating less, telling himself he was sick. Then, he began slowly stopping streaming. He ended up a mess who would escape to his dreams where Clay and George sat, alone, in a boat, staring out at the sky and it's centre piece, a glowing moon that cleared his mind thoroughly. Their hands were intertwined. Their hearts were locked and Clay could feel it. He never wanted to leave that perfect image, never wanted to return to his battered reality. And thus the worlds blurred, his mind being lost in the murky mix of colour.

Yet again, he had misplaced reality with a dream, letting out the secret he had been grasping onto for months to the one person he knew he could never tell. His crush, George. A stupid man-child with fair features, a bright smile and uplifting laugh. Chocolate eyes that crinkled and glowed ever so slightly when he spoke. For years Clay had fawned over George, watching him from a polite distance, testing the waters of potential. He was impossible to read. Had he enjoyed Dream's teasing? Or was it all just fan service? He could never tell when it came to the British man.

Clay tore himself apart gradually, along with his sanity. Talking to a fictional version of someone he treasured due to a deep seeded fear of rejection. In the midst of his muddled situation, his best friends had moved in with him. Sapnap, whom seemed like he knew forever and George - the man he was obsessing over.

Dark spots clouded his vision, looking down again to see his limp fingers intertwined with a slim, fair skinned hand; it seemed like a familiar seen he had seen before. There was another hand on his shoulder. It sounded loud but quiet and distant.. Clay slipped into a velvety cover of warmth as he looked up to see a familiar face..

"George...?"

The shorter man knelt, shaking Clay's shoulders. Was he laughing or crying? He could no longer tell as he faded from consciousness slowly, in the man he loved so much's arms.

The warmth felt of bliss and relief..

He no longer felt any weight pulling him down to the earth...

And just like that, his body had stopped breathing.
