The day Demeter Avery was born the world bent for her."DEMETER!" the loving mother yelled but got no reply. "DEMETER" she yelled again. Finally, a reply was found "yes mummy."
Demeter yelled back. Demeter had been playing in the garden, one of her favorite things to do. " SOMEONES HERE FOR YOU" her mother yelled. At those words Demeter instantly jumped up. Demeter was a young, reserved, 4-year-old, she much preferred playing in the family garden rather than having to socialize at the public parks. Demeter never really had friends they all would run away at the sight of fire glowing on the palm of her hand, part of the reason she was never found at public parks. Having to obliviate that many muggles took toll on her parents.
As well as having to sooth a crying, panicking, child that was wondering why the muggle parents had cursed her out for simply showing them something that her parents told her never to be ashamed of.
Demeter ran quickly into the parlor. She instantly saw someone of platinum blonde hair and warm blue-grey eyes. Her mother swiftly moved behind her urging her forward.
"Demeter, this is Narcissa Malfoy", her mother stated pointing to a beautiful woman with platinum blonde hair and warm blue eyes much like the boy's, with her hand outstretched. Demeter took her hand and shook it lightly but with a firm enough grip to show confidence, she didn't have much but that would grow. Narcissa smiled a smile that Demeter was sure she didn't show often.
"Lucius Malfoy " her mother said, ushering her to shake his hand. She did. The same way she had done with the beautiful lady before him, "And this is Theodore Nott and Allegra Zabini" she shook their hands.
"Hi, I'm Demeter" she stated looking toward the group of boys hiding behind the adults she had just met. After she said that it was like they had instantly cracked out of their shell. They speedily jolted forward.
"Hi, I'm Blaise," said the dark-skinned boy. She admired the fact he had be the first the introduce himself. She waved and turned the to the lanky brown-haired boy next to him signaling for him to state his name. He did. The parents laughed at the interaction."I'm Theodore, you can call me Theo. That's what my friends call me." She waved and blushed. Her heart swelled at the fact that he had considered her a friend already. Her parents noticed the gleam in her eyes to being considered a friend and their hearts swelled at the fact.
Next came the platinum blonde that had caught her eye. He confidently walked closer to her stopping directly in front of her. "I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy" she laughed a little at the fact that he was being so formal. He wasn't offended actually he was quite taken back by her beautiful laughter.
"Hey, Demeter why don't you show them your cool trick" her mother said with a wink. Demeter giggled while grabbing the 3 extremely confused 4-year-olds and pulling them towards the gardens.
She plopped down on a picnic tarp that was laid out from her adventure before they arrived. The boys plopped down in a circle around the center. What she did next had them completely and utterly infatuated with her abilities.
"Just watch." She stated lacking the little confidence she had showed earlier with the adults. They nodded. They then watched in amazement as a seedling showed in her hand and then slowly transformed into a beautiful Poppy. Much like the Greek goddess she was named after she loved Poppies.
"WOAH" Blaise stated in astonishment. She suddenly didn't feel as ashamed of her abilities as an element. "How did you do that?" Draco asked, Theo was still ogling in amazement. "Well, I'm an elemental, a terra or earth element we can bend earthly elements, I don't really understand it, but mummy and daddy told there's nothing to be ashamed of." She really didn't understand only being 4.
That was the start their friendship and risky adventures.
