Chapter 4: Nobody There

We are about 1/2 mile out from the shelter, and we're really tired. We find a old barn that still has a roof, walls, and working doors. Me and Ki Ki go in, and clear out any undead inside, but there was none. I go outside, and tell Parker and Rose that it is clear, and to come in with the stuff. " Parker, did you bring your axe? If you did, we could go and get some wood for a fire." I ask " Yep" Parker said. We both go outside, and start chopping of branches of trees for a fire to keep warm over night. We go back into the barn, and sit down with the wood and put it into little pit surrounded by rocks, and light the fire. "Are you 2 brothers?" Rose asked, I said "Yeah". I get up, picked up some branches, closed both doors, and blocked them. In the morning we continued walking to the shelter hoping to be there by within 20 mins. We slowly approach the shelter, weapons up, and ears open, we breach the door, and go in. "Where the fuck is everyone!" I yelled as it echoes in the metallic chamber.
