The thought of Tom being at the dim lit cafe all those years ago seemed ludicrous to you. An all star, a well known footballer whose name had become a household one. Why would he be in a small place like this? The fanciest thing the cafe had to offer was exotic tea handpicked by monkeys.

You were signed to play an acoutic set that night. There were rumors of an agent lurking in the shadows.  The amount of hours perfecting and memorizing countless notes would make any normal persons head spin. There was one individual that caught your attention, he stuck out like a sore thumb. Every note that you played in a battle against the growing murmuring of the crowd seemed to dissipate as you caught Toms stare. Pins and needles began to spread from your toes and finger tips, consuming your being.

Soon your set ended and you descended from the stage, guitar in hand. As you were putting away your instrument, there was movement from your left. The faint light of the cafe was blocked out by a towering form.

"Nice save up there" he said. You had to tilt your head up to even meet his eyes, with only being five feet tall.

"Uh, th-thanks." You stuttered, blushing. The fact that one of the leading quarterbacks of the NFL was complimenting you was mind boggling. You could see his mouth moving, but you were too busy trying to figure out your next move and how to not look like a fool. It was a little to late for that.

"I'm sorry if that was to sudden" Tom said rubbing his neck awkwardly, "it's just that your really good at guitar and all."

"Excuse me?"

"I was wondering if you would want to maybe grab dinner and show me how to play guitar some time?" Tom said to you, while shrugging his jacket on, in preparation of rejection.

"Sure, I'm Abigail by the way" you said reaching out to shake his hand.

"Tom"

A couple months passed and soon you were introduced to his kids. They weren't overly fond of you, since the separation of their parents. But as soon as you offered to teach them how to play the guitar and violin, the ice began to slowly thaw away. Within a year of being with Tom, he popped the question the minute you walked off the stage at the cafe. Of course you had to ask his kids for permission to marry him first! Looks like a lot more music lessons were going to be required for that blessing!

Thank you so much for reading!  I had lots of fun writing this. Especially the challenge of getting my creative writing going! PM me if you want an imagine. Look at the first chapter for reference. ♡♡♡♡
