"Hey, Y/N

"Hey, Y/N."

"Hey Sho!"

You waved at the ten-year-old while he approached, the evening light casting shadows over the alley.

Five years.

You had known each other for five years.

Shoto had fully opened up to you about his situation and his family, about how his eldest brother had presumably died and how his mother had burned his face with boiling water. His father's abuse, the isolation from his siblings... all of it.

You had opened up to him about your grief for your parents, how you had watched your mother get skewered, the horrors you had encountered in the streets, the multiple times that you had almost been kidnapped, and your quirk.

Both of you trusted each other with your secrets, your trauma, and your worries.

You were best friends.

He stopped in front of you, a small smile worn on his face. He handed you a small bag, and you took it, bowing.

"Thanks, Sho."

You reached into the bag, taking out the bento box containing rice, beef, vegetables, and chicken. You sat down against the wall of the alley with Shoto while you both ate.

He had started to sneak out food for you after he turned seven, which had gone on since. It really helped you out.

Though, your quirk had been giving you dreams lately, and you had been worried about it. The dreams had been of a house that you didn't recognize, and you had seen people that you didn't know.

There had been a woman with spiky ash-blond hair, and a man with spiky brown hair.

Then there had been a boy that looked around your age with hair just like the woman's, and scarlet eyes..

They all looked like a family, but you didn't know why your quirk was giving you dreams of those people.

Your quirk had manifested when you were only 3, an early-bloomer. You had seen the future, as your quirk let's you.

Vision. A quirk that grants the user the power to see as far as one hour into the future on command, and get premonitions of exactly 1 month into the future in their dreams.

'Maybe I should tell Sho...?'

You opened your mouth to speak, but a thought came to your mind.

'What if this family is going to find me and adopt me? Wouldn't that mean that.. I won't be able to be here for Shoto anymore?'

You knew that you should tell him.

"Hey, Sho...?"

"Yeah?"

"You know how my quirk gives me dreams?"

He nodded, and you knew that you had caught his attention.

"I keep having dreams of this family, and this house... But I don't know them. The adults call me by my first name, but the little boy calls me Dekuette, whatever that means.."

"So you're saying that you might get found by a family soon?"

You nodded and locked gazes with him.

"So you might not be able to be here for me anymore?"

"Hey, woah! I, well.. Maybe not.." You held up your hands, yet they shrank down when you thought better of it.

An idea popped into your mind.

"Hey, you want to be a hero, right?"

"..Yeah."

"Then let's meet again at the best hero school around here, U.A.! Promise you'll get into the hero course?" You grinned, holding out your hand to him.

He stared at you, lips parting before he shook your hand.

"Promise."

"Just... Try to hold on for a few years, alright?" You wrapped your arms around him. "I'm sorry I can't help you anymore with your father. I... won't know how to get here again..."

"At least you'll find a family.. I'm happy that you won't be struggling anymore." He returned the hug, clutching your dark green T-shirt in his fist.
