Chapter 12: The Constellations of Summer

In the room where his bey was being made, Daku was sneering with pleasure for the bey was starting to take shape.

"Soon, Father." He chuckled. "Soon, I shall start the world that you sought to make."

"Um, Sir? I hate to interrupt, but we apparently got some invaders."

As the lackey brought up a visual on the screen, Daku scowled for it was none other than Gingka's friends and Zero's gang.

"What?! How did they find us?!"

"I think it has to do something with...."

"I have no time for explanations!  Just get rid of them!"

"Yes, sir. Going to call up Reiji now."

Meanwhile, outside of the base, all the bladers who were on the retrieval mission were dashing as fast as their legs could carry them.

"Where are we going?" Quizzed Zero.

"To one of Dark Nebula's original  bases." Kyoya replied. "One that me, Gingka, Kenta, Beneki and Madoka raided in our first attempt to take back the forbidden bey."

"Makes sense." Yuki remarked. "But why on earth would these new guys use a former base of a long dead company?"

"Guess we'll find out once we meet their leader." Kenta replied as then the base came into view.

"Going ssssomewhere?" Asked a voice.

As everyone then turned towards their left, they found Reiji blocking their way.

"Sssorry." He said as he brought out his launcher and bey. "But I've got to ssstop you all here."

Kenta gave a scowl as glared at Reiji. He remembered it. He remembered it all. Reiji's love to strike fear into his opponents, the damage he'd done to Yu and Libra, and how he nearly destroyed Sagitario. These memories made him sick to the stomach, and caused him to really hate Reiji for how truly twisted he was.

"We have no time to waste here!" He thought as he pulled out his redesigned Sagitario. "Hey Reiji! Remember me?!"

Reiji looked on as Kenta showed him his bey. He scowled for he knew this person all too well.

"Kenta Yumiya. I do remember alright."

"Then that makes things easier." Kenta then said as got ready to launch his bey. "Everyone, I'll deal with Reiji! You all go and find our friends."

"Are you sure, Kenta?" Kyoya asked, remembering the last time that his friend fought Reiji.

"Positive, Kyoya." Kenta replied. "Besides, I'm at a completely different level compared to back then."

A yellow greenish flame-like aura flickered over Kenta as his determination rose. He was about to fight a face that brought upon some past demons. As the rest of the group then darted away, Reiji gave out a cackle as Kenta continued to scowl.

"I know I'm scared of this guy, but I'm not going to  let him beat me.  I know you feel the same, don't you my friend?"

"....Yes Kenta...." Came a reply within his mind.

"3.." Reiji said with a sneer.

"2.." Kenta said with his ongoing scowl.

"1.." Both bladers grasped their launchers tightly.

"Let it rip!"

Both bladers launched their beys, and immediately Kenta went for the strike. Sagitario's attacks were strong and fierce, they made Serpent bounce and buckle with no end in sight.

"Go now!" Kenta cried, as Sagitario gave Serpent a massive clash.

As Serpent dropped back on to the ground, Reiji began to grow impatient.

"You miserable brat! Why can't you just stay afraid?!!!"

Serpent clashed hard into Sagitario, making him and Kenta fly backwards. Though his bey landed on the ground safely, Kenta hit the ground hard. As Kenta watched his bey, he continued to scowl in frustration as Sagitario began to wobble.

"Darn.. Reiji's gotten stronger too. It's hopeless. Forgive me Sagitario."

As Reiji then gave a sneer, Kenta began to shed tears, for he KNEW what was to come next.

"Dark Move! Serpent! Venom Strike!"

Serpent then began to charge toward Sagitario with a great amount of speed. Kenta was for sure that his bey would be severely damaged like the last time, but he did not reckon a gift that was left behind in his bey during the fight against Nemesis. A lava orange glow emitted from Sagitario, before the sound of a dragon's roar was heard and a spectral form of a bey appeared from Kenta's and stopped serpent in its tracks.

"What?! My dark move stopped, but how?!"

"What else, Reiji." Came a reply of a gruff voice. "By the power of the dragon emperor!"

Kenta and Reiji's eyes widened with shock, they knew this spectral figure with the white jacket as his cape all too well.

"R-Ryuga?" Kenta stammered. "H-how a-are you..."

Ryuga just gave a sigh as he looked at Kenta.

"Sorry, kid." He said calmly. "I'm not alive. But that isn't to say I'll never will be."

"So.. you're saying...."

"Yup! I'll be back someday, kid! And when I am, you better be ready, for I still got to get you back for that near defeat."

Kenta gave a chuckle, as Ryuga's echo held out his hand.

"Come, Kenta. You still need to beat this guy. You still must show him how much more powerful you are compared to him."

Kenta gave a nod and took Ryuga's hand.

"Why are you helping him?!" Reiji cried.

"Because, Kenta has earned my respect and acknowledgement. Yes, he was a squirt in size back in the day, but he's not so much in determination. L-Drago here acknowledges him too as a great blader, and I'm for one and am very disappointed with YOU Reiji!"

As Ryuga swung his arm, the spectral of L-Drago Destructor charged at Serpent.

"Let's go Sagitario!" Kenta cried, as his determination made his bey spin faster once again.

Both Ryuga and Kenta screamed as the power of their shared star fragment charged up. Reiji's fear only grew and grew, and both Sagitario and L-Drago battered Serpent around.

"Ssstop thissss! sssssSTOP THIS NOW!!!!"

"No chance Reiji!" Ryuga replied. "For you are facing the power of the two Summer constellation Legendary Bladers!!!!"

Kenta and Ryuga gave one last battle cry as their beys clashed into serpent. Reiji's bey crashed into the wall, causing Reiji to once again fall victim to his own poison.  As Ryuga and L-Drago disappeared once more, Kenta gave a smile and looked at his bey.

"Thank you, Ryuga."
