James Potter was head-over-heels in love with Lily Evans. Everyone at Hogwarts knew that for a fact. The only problem? She couldn't exactly say the same.
For a while, her constant rejections didn't phase him, but by their fifth year, the effort was getting a bit draining. After a particularly bad day, James ran into a girl who seemed to have better advice than all of his friends combined and a charmingly sarcastic wit that rivaled his own. Even though she was a Slytherin from a snobbish family, he found her mesmerizing.
Besides, he really wanted to know what she was writing.
Miriam Greengrass had one ambition in life: to publish a book. To her, words were just as magical as spells and incantations. The only problem? Her family would never approve.
When James Potter stumbled into her life looking properly miserable and disappointed, she had no intention of making friends. He was an obnoxious Gryffindor who came with an equally-obnoxious entourage. Still, something about his honesty fascinated her, and she began listening to his problems, learning that he was much more than a lovesick troublemaker.
Besides, she really wanted to know why they called him "Prongs."

Hello! Welcome to "Bad Timing"! This is my first time writing a James Potter x OC, but I fell in love with him while writing the "Serendipity" series, so I'm super excited to be doing this! Currently, I'm writing "Epiphany", and I miss these idiots deerly (lol, I'm hilarious). The Marauders Era is my favorite to write, and I can't wait for you all to read this new storyline!
