Chapter 1
"Beep beep beep!" The annoying sound of the alarm called out. It's 8 in the morning. It's finally Christmas break! I stretched my body and got out of bed, tiredly walked to my bathroom and told myself it's time to get my day started.
I walk outside to be hit with the coldness of the air, with the sight of a soft blue coloured sky. The light of the sun shining on my pink cold cheeks. As I take a walk around the neighbourhood, I see kids building snowman's, cheerfully playing. The Christmas decorations and atmosphere around me, made me feel cozy and warm inside, despite it being winter. I paused to look over to the house next to me, where my best friend lives. Well, I wouldn't really call him my best friend since we've known each other since we were little.
"Y/N! Y/N!!"
I flinched and turned around in surprise. It was Sunwoo, my childhood best friend.
I grinned along with laughing playfully, "what?" I said.
"Let's go make some gingerbread cookies at my house!" Sunwoo said with an exciting smile.
I stood there, just feet away from him, and my cheeks grew even pinker. I hid my face with the puffiness of my thick jacket and smiled. I was grateful to have him as a close friend. He's a person who smiles and cares for me even when he's having a hard time. I walked with him to his house like usual, and started to get ready to bake cookies.
Chapter 2
My heart was beating fast, and my cheeks were as pink as cotton candy. A secret of mine is I realized that I began to have feelings for Sunwoo since a long time ago. It's hard, having feelings for your childhood friend. I was mad and scared when I found out, I was scared I was going to lose this friendship and I've tried all I could to get rid of these feelings, but it was too hard for me to. How can I not have feelings for someone who smiles that brightly after seeing me? I look up at Sunwoo, his hands and shirt dirty from all the flour.
"Y/N ~~ help me crack the eggs! The shells always get in when I do it!"
I flinched. For a moment I thought he caught me staring at him. I look up to his face to see a warm smile.
"Here you go, you should really learn how to crack an egg properly!!" I said jokingly.
"Why would I when I already have you to do that~~" Sunwoo said smiling.
"Okay anyways, you do the stirring while I make the hot coco!" I tried to hide my smile while thinking about the words he told me.
The cookies came out looking amazing, and we later decorated it with different coloured frosting. While decorating, I look up to Sunwoo staring at me warmly.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask.
"I dunno, I just feel like keeping this as a memory forever" he replied.
