"Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no!" I yelled in panic," This can not be happening again! Especially with you!"

"Relax, Four Ears, it's not too bad," my annoying companion said trying to calm me down.

"Do NOT tell me to calm down, Logan Berry Bush! You got us into this place, and you gotta get us out!" I knew I was losing my cool, but I couldn't be stuck in the cardboard fort alone with Logan all night. It was like Halloween with Millie all over again but much worse.

"Look, Louise, there's nothing we can do now so just relax. That truck's gonna be parked there all night, you heard the guy. At least there's some old Halloween candy in here."

As I watched Logan snack on a year old piece of candy, I finally took a couple of deep breaths to calm myself down. Maybe this won't be so bad, I thought to myself. If we were gonna survive the night together, I guess we had to play nice for now.

"Since we're stuck here all night, I'm gonna sleep in my room upstairs," I gestured towards the small hole above us that lead to the other part of our fort," Don't eat all the candy and let me know if anything happens."

"Okay, I can do that," He nodded in understanding," Goodnight, Louise."

I grumbled in response then shimmied my way into the box above me. I tried to get as comfy as possible, but it's hard to get comfy on cardboard. I laid on my side and curled up into a ball to stay warm. It was going to be a long night.

A cold chill washing over my body instantly wakes me up. I realize I'm shaking all over, and I'm freezing cold. The temperature had been dropping recently due to fall weather, and the chill autumn breeze found its way between the cracks of the boxes. I didn't even bother bringing a jacket, so that didn't help. After rolling over different ideas in my mind to keep myself warm, I decided to crawl back down to where Logan was. Maybe he had some bright idea. Maybe.

I looked around the box below me and spotted Logan curled up in a corner wrapped tightly in his jacket. At least he was smart enough to bring one. I carefully placed my feet on the bottom of the cardboard floor. I tried pushing up against the door but still no luck. I sighed in defeat and scooted towards Logan. I almost didn't wanna wake him. He looked almost cute asleep. Almost.

"Logan?" I shoved his arm," Logan, wake up."

"Uh, wha-, what's wrong?" he said in a panic. He instinctively waved his arms around defensively. He almost hit me, but I grabbed onto his wrist before he did.

"Logan! Calm down," I yelled at him," It's just me."

"Louise? What's wrong?"

"I woke up shivering. I thought I had left a blanket here, but I guess not," I explained.

"Well, don't scream next time. You had me worried," he twisted his hand in my grip to lay his hand on top of mine. Surprisingly, I didn't resist, but I felt an even colder chill run down my spine at Logan's touch. That's odd, I thought. "Do you want my jacket?"

"Are you serious?" I asked in shock. I'd never imagine in a million years imagine Logan doing anything nice, especially for me.

"Yeah, you're cold, duh," I could sense him rolling his eyes at me.

"As long as it doesn't have a teenage boyish smell," I laughed at my own insult.

"Then maybe I won't give you my jacket," he teased me by dangling his jacket in front of me.

"Oh, no freakin' way, Logan!"

I instantly tackled Logan to the ground and wrestled the jacket from his grip. I straddled his waist and tugged at one end while he grabbed the other.

"Hand it over, Logie-Bear!" I shouted his nickname.

"Never, Four Ears!" he retaliated. All of a sudden, I was looking up at Logan's face. In one swift motion, Logan had flipped me on my back and tugged the jacket out of my hands. "Ha, ha! I win!"

"Oh, whatever," I couldn't help but chuckle, and I heard Logan do the same. After a moment, I think we both realized what kind of position we were in, and Logan rolled over beside me instead.

"Just know, Logan, I can take you down whenever I chose to," I looked over and smirked at him.

"Oh, I'm sure you could, Louise," he smirked back. Suddenly, I felt a cold chill wash over my body once again. "Here, how bout we share the jacket as a blanket."

"I guess I can tolerate being that close to you for one night," I complied. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad sleeping next to Logan. Maybe.

"I promise I don't snore," he laughed as he laid out the jacket on top of us," Now can I go back to sleep?"

"Only if you let me."

"Deal. Goodnight, Four-Ears," Logan turned over on his side.

"Goodnight, Logie-Bear," I closed my eyes once again and tried to fall asleep. However, the jacket still wasn't enough to keep me warm. I was still shuddering but stopped when I suddenly felt Logan's arm wrap tightly around my stomach.

"I'll keep you warm," he whispered in my ear before he finally fell asleep.

The warmth emanating from his body and the blanket finally allowed me to drift off to sleep. Before I did, I placed my hand on top of Logan's and thought maybe Logan wasn't so bad after all. Maybe.
