Chapter 1: Cam

Chapter 1

Cam

I straightened my tie, sweating. My hands were shaking with nerves, and I kept glancing out the window, waiting for a red Buick to pull up in front of our house. The car finally pulled up, and through the windshield, I saw her. Bianca Jackson. Her raven black hair was in an intricate braid, and swept over her shoulder. Her stormy grey eyes held a mischievous glint as she met my eyes through the window. I hurried downstairs, slipping on my sport coat as I descended the stairs. There was a knock on the door, and I rushed over to open it. As I pulled the door opened, I saw that Bianca was wearing a metallic grey dress, with teal wave designs.

"Wow," I said, smoothing my wavy brown hair. "You look... really good."

She smirked at me. "So do you." She replied.

I blushed furiously, and began walking out towards the car, where her dad, Percy Jackson was waiting. She caught up with me, reached her hand up, and began tracing her finger along the back of my neck, right where she knew I was most ticklish. A giggle escaped my lips, and I reached up, and gently removed her hand from my neck. For some reason, I noticed how smooth, and warm her skin was. I went to let go of her hand, but she grabbed mine, and held on. As we reached the end of the driveway, Bianca stopped, and I turned around to see what she was doing.

"What?" I asked.

"Close your eyes," She said softly. "There's something I want to give you."

I looked at her questioningly, but closed my eyes just the same. She rested her hand on my cheek, and softly pressed her lips against mine. Fireworks went off in my mind, and I reached up, and hooked my hand around the back of her neck, pulling her closer. I felt a warm feeling seeping through my body, starting from wherever her skin met mine. We broke apart when we heard a whoop from Percy, and clapping from my dad, Jason Grace. Blushing, we made our way to the car, and got into the back seat.

"Sooooooooo... when did this start?" Percy asked, gesturing to me and Bianca.

"Tonight." Bianca said simply.

Percy gunned the engine, and headed off to prom. We arrived at six-thirty, half an hour before we would be allowed into the school. I got out of the car, and took Bianca's hand.

"Hey, Cast!" I shouted to a fifteen year old boy with blond hair, and sea green eyes. "You have a date?"

Cast nodded and motioned to a sixteen year old girl with choppy brown hair, and electric blue eyes. My sister, Reyna. He wrapped an arm around her, and kissed her lightly on the lips.

"I don't remember giving you permission to date my sister Cast Nakamura Jackson." I said to him.

"I don't remember giving you permission to date my sister Cameron Leo Grace." He shot back.

My eyes narrowed at the use of my full name, and I charged him. With Cast at a height of 6'- 2", and on the wrestling team, most people would think charging him a stupid idea, but I had grown up with Cast almost like a brother, so I knew his weaknesses. Plus, at 6'- 5", and on the football team, I could easily get Cast on the ground and pinned. But as I charged toward him, I realized that tackling him would ruin my suit, which I had just had dry cleaned. I stopped in front of Cast, and with mock formality, asked him, "May I date your sister Mr. Jackson?"

"Why yes you may." He replied. "May I date yours?"

I nodded curtly, and the girls dissolved into giggles. I walked over to Bianca, and put an arm around her. She buried her face in my chest, shaking with laughter. I looked up at Cast, and saw that he was in a similar predicament. He caught my eye, and mouthed Girls. I snorted, then wrapped my other arm around Bianca, pulling her into a hug. She reached up, cradled the back of my neck, and pulled me down into a kiss. After a few seconds, we broke apart, and headed up the stairs and into the school. The school was mostly empty because the doors had only just opened, and because a lot of kids were staying home because Minecraft 1.17 was coming out at 7:30 tonight. As the auditorium slowly filled up, as prom-goers, music started playing, and I grabbed Bianca's hand, and we made our way onto the dance floor.

Wow, you made it through the first chapter! Impressive. I hope that it wasn't too bad. Im kinda surprised, 828 words. It's a long chapter. Btw, sry to anyone who has a fic called Children of Olympus, I know that it seems like I stole the name. I do know after looking this up that this is a very common title.
