*knock knock* "KT" I hear my best friend say my nickname from outside my window on the fire escape. Ny name is Kaden, Kaden Thompson better known as KT and my best friends name is Leo. Leo and I met when we were 6 while walking home from school. He went to the all boys catholic school and I went to the all girls catholic school across the street. We discovered that we lived in the same building and 10 years later we were still going strong. We lived in Manhattan and spent most of our days wandering the streets like every other teenager in the city.

"Hold on I'm coming" I say before climbing onto my bed to open the window in the corner.

"God took you long enough , it's cold as fuck outside" Leo says while laughing and climbing inside.

"Calm down it's not that bad" I say laughing and walking towards my closet to get out my school uniform.

"You almost ready it's already 7:30 we have to be at school at 8" he says while taking a cigarette out of his back pocket and lighting it.

"Yeah just give me few minutes I gotta change" I say while grabbing my clothes and heading to the bathroom leaving Leo sitting on my bed. After I get into the bathroom and put on my uniform I throw my hair into a ponytail and walk back into my room.

"Okay lets go" I say while walking towards the front door with Leo behind me.

"Bye mom" I yell before opening the door.

"Bye sweetie have a good day at school" she yells as we walk out. I love my mom, she always made sure I had everything I needed even when we didn't have the money for it. She had to work 2 jobs after my father split when I was 9 just so we could afford this shitty run down apartment, but I always let her know how much I appreciated her. Leo's home life was pretty similar. He never knew his dad though so it was always just him and his mom. After getting out the door we began our short walk towards the schools.

"Hey I think I'm gonna go see Bobby later you wanna come" Leo asks while looking towards me with sad eyes. Bobby was one of Leo's and mines closest friends. He got diagnosed with leukemia 2 years ago and was still fighting it off. Leo was always so optimistic that he would get better but I could tell that Bobby was ready for it to be over. Leo introduced him to me when we were kids, they played on the same basketball team. Me and Bobby were pretty good friends but Leo and him were closer.

"Yeah sounds good, are the other guys coming" I say while turning to look at Leo. The other guys are Mickey, Neutron, and Pedro. I personally thought that Mickey and Pedro were assholes but they were pretty fun to hangout with sometimes. Neutron on the other hand was pretty cool. They all played basketball together except Pedro, he was the manager.

"No those assholes have never gone to see him"
Leo says with a hint of anger in his voice as we finally reach the schools.

"That's okay we'll go after school" I say with a sympathetic look.

"Okay sounds good I'll meet you at the bench after" he yells while walking into the other direction towards his school.

As I walk through school I already notice the death glares some of the girls are giving me. I wasn't the biggest fan of school mostly because I didn't have any friends here. Most of the girls didn't like me because I was friends with Leo and the guys. Almost everyone had a crush on Leo, but I couldn't blame them. Leo was definitely attractive I couldn't deny that, but I guess I never saw him like they did because we've been so close for so long. The day passed by as usual same boring classes same asshole teachers. After my last class was over I went to my locker got my stuff and headed towards the door. As I walked outside I saw the guys sitting on the bench waiting and made my way towards them.

"Hey sweet cheeks what took you so long" Mickey says after walking over to me and putting his arm around me. Mickey was the flirt of the group. He had absolutely zero standards as long as you were a girl he would try to hit on you.

"Fuck off Mickey" I say while removing his arm. As the others laugh.

"You ready to go" Leo says while standing up from the bench.

"Yeah lets go" I say before me and Leo turn around and walk in the other direction.

"Wait where are you guys going I thought we were gonna go to the basketball court" Pedro yells towards us.

"Nah were gonna go see Bobby we'll meet you guys later" Leo yells back before turning back around. The walk towards the hospital was pretty quiet. Leo told me about his basketball game tomorrow and how he wished Bobby could still play. I felt bad for Leo I had already come to terms with Bobby and I knew that he didn't have a lot of time left considering it was stage 4, but Leo still hasn't. After walking for a while we finally arrived at the hospital and walked into Bobby's room.

"Surprise" I said as I walked towards Bobby to give him a hug.

"Hey man" Leo said before walked towards him and doing the same.

"Oh Bobby you'll never believe what I did man"  Leo said while laughing as I pulled up 2 chairs for us to sit in beside Bobby's bed.

"What" Bobby said while looking towards me, both of us with a confused look on our faces.

"I beat your record 7 times in one day, my mom probably thinks I'm sick with all the tissues laying around the house" Leo says while laughing while I stare at him with a shocked look still trying to figure out what their talking about.

"Nah man you're lucky I can't even get a decent chubby with all the shit that they're pumping into me" Bobby says with a sad look across his face while I finally realize what they were talking about.

"Oh my god are you guys seriously talking about how many times you jerk off in a day, seriously" I say while laughing.

"Oh calm down KT if it makes you feel any better he probably thinks about you while doing it" Bobby says with an amused look as Leo blush's and I laugh while covering my face with my hand.

"God seriously Bobby, we're just friends" Leo says while turning towards me still with red cheeks.

"Mhm sureee" Bobby says while laughing.

"Okay well with that we're gonna head out we'll be back sometime this week" Leo says before quickly walking out the room.

"Bye Bobby" I say before giving him a hug and following Leo out.
