What are these things?!? And how do they keep finding me!?! I thought as I ran away from the monsters for the fourth time that day. They had the head and wings of a giant eagle, and the body and tail of a lion. They were kinda cool, when they weren't trying to kill you. One of them swooped down and tried to bite me, but I scrambled backwards and it just managed to make a long, thin cut on my right arm. At first, I kept running, but then there was a searing pain in my right forearm, and I couldn't move it. These things are poisonous! I realized. Suddenly, I was in a forest. I dodged trees and monsters until I came to a clearing.
