A guard approaches a boy with white hair and black colored wings, sitting in a cherry blossom tree, eating an apple while reading a book about Romeo and Juliet.

"Your highness, your parents request your presence in the throne room," the guard says.

The boy looks down at the guard before sighing and closing the book, putting it away in a side bag, and finishes the apple before jumping down to the ground and hands the core of the apple to the guard. The guard holds the core by the stem, keeping it away from him as he watches the prince walk inside the palace.

The prince enters the throne room, which has towering pillars on either side of a long red carpet with golden wings and fire designs that lead up to two thrones. One is a bird-man with red wings, golden eyes, messy blonde hair, and a little chin hair. On the other is a taller man with black hair, blue eyes, and burn scars in certain areas with staples connecting the burn scars and his regular skin.

"You requested my presence, fathers?" asks the prince.

"Yes, we have some news for you, Amano." the bird-man says.

"What kind of news?" Amano looks between his father's.

"You've become of age where you will take our places as King of this kingdom, and in doing so, you must be wed," the black-haired guy says.

Amano nods as he listens. "When will I be meeting the suitors?" he asks.

"We have them in the ballroom right now," says the bird-man.

Amano nods and is about to leave when he stops and looks at them. "You know I'm only doing this for the kingdom, right?"

They both nod. "We know," says the black-haired guy.

"Good," says Amano, then leaves the room.

"Do you think we're doing the right thing, Keigo?" the black-haired guy asks.

"Why do you ask Touya?" says Keigo.

"You know how Amano is. When he found out his brother Raven got to pick his boyfriend on his own terms, Amano started to act. . .differently," says Touya.

Keigo sighs. "I know, but it's what is best for the kingdom, and Amano knows that. He'll come around soon."

Touya nods before leaning back in the throne, staring at the doors Amano disappeared through.

Amano walks into the ballroom and looks around at all the guests in the room. He walks to the buffet table and gets himself some chicken strips and a glass of water, and eats as he leans against a wall, examining each of the guests, some boys some girls.

In particular, a boy catches his eye, for he sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the crowd. He has messy black hair with a chiseled chin and dark brown eyes. He has scars running along his face, and if it weren't for his nicely fashioned clothes, he could've been mistaken as a thief or a homeless guy.

Amano sets his empty glass on the table along with his now empty plate before walking over to the boy. "Excuse me, what is your name?"

The boy looks at him, eyes him up and down, and speaks with a harsh tone. "I'm Hiro Shouda. Who asks?"

Glares at him a bit for the harshness of his voice. "I'm Amano Takami, the son of Touya and Keigo Takami and the heir to the throne."

"So you're the one who all these people are here for," Hiro says with sarcasm in his voice.

Amano huffs as he glares Hiro down. "It doesn't seem like you're here for me, so spill, what's your deal?"

Hiro shrugs. "I was hoping there'd be people I could steal from or find some drug dealers here."

Amano sighs and looks over in the direction of where some guards are standing. "Guards!!"

As the guards walk over, Hiro panics, not wanting to deal time in jail, and grabs Amano by the waist and kisses him.

"Mmpf-!!" The guards see Amano and Hiro kissing and assume Amano had requested them for he had chosen Hiro. The guards speak with some other guards, and they usher out the other guests as Hiro pulls back.

"Why are the guests leaving?" Hiro asks.

Amano groans. "Because the guards saw us doing. . .that. . .and assumed I had chosen you to be my husband."

"But I wasn't even here to uh- be a suitor to you," Hiro says.

"Yeah, well, now you are, so get used to it," Amano says and turns on his heels. "And another thing, you listen to what my parents and I ask of you, and I may just. . .fulfill. . .your true wish of why you came here." He walks out as guards follow him out.

Hiro watches as he leaves before other guards come over to Hiro. He looks at them, confused. "Um- hi?"

"We will be taking you to your room now," one of the guards says, and they walk to the doors.

"I- what?" He sees the guards are already through the doorway and quickly goes to catch up to be taken to his new living area.
