And then it happened, one day Rikilious found himself in hell. It was not as hot as he imagined it would be. The warm stone floor that he walked on was a shade of red similar to Eva Quindecim. She was his escort in the isolated tower that he had been taken to by his host. She led him to his chambers. The bed was a lavish four poster bed made of a dark gray almost black stone, but fitted with silky red lenins. Next to his bed was a plate of delicious looking pastries and a bottle of wine with two wine glasses.
"You may dwell here meek one." Eva said as she led him to the room.
"Why do you insist on calling me meek?"
"Because you insist on being so, even here of all places. You can feel it can't you?"
"Feel? The heat? It is not as hot as I thought it would be actually."
Eva paused for a long moment, her face motionless like a statue carved and then delicately painted in wonderfully vivid pale colors.
"Allow me to bite you and then you will understand what I speak of."
Rikilious placed a hand on his neck and took a step back from her. With his eyes wider he responded, "No, but thank you."
"It won't hurt, I promise, no in fact it would dull the pain."
Mosquito bites don't hurt either until after the fact. Rikilious thought.
"It is very kind of you to ask, but why would I want you to bite me?"
She approached him aggressively, with her cool expression on her face betraying itself with the faintest of smirks on those ruby red colored lips. He backed up until he found himself against the wall. She leaned in toward his hand which covered his neck, but her momentum was halted as suddenly she found herself at arms length with his right hand firmly grasped around her neck. His olive skin looked much darker against her pale white skin. Her smirk grew as she stared into his eyes. She pressed forward and his grip tightened for a moment, but only a moment before he released her and backed away from her once more, this time moving toward the door.
"My apologies, but I hardly know you and the blood sucking things seems rather intimate doesn't it?"
"It seems you have a ticklish neck. Perhaps there is somewhere less ticklish on your body?"
Rikilious laughed nervously as he made his way toward the door.
Well mother always said to not trust a girl that kisses on the first date. Maybe mom was referring to Eva Quindecim. No, I shouldn't say that, she feels incredibly strong, I don't want to upset her.
Eva's smirk faded
"You disappoint me, I thought for a moment that there was more to the eye with you."
She started walking toward the door.
"What do you mean?" Rikilious said with furrowed eyebrows.
"Do not speak to me again until you learn how to treat a lady."
Eva walked out without sparing him another glance. She didn't bother closing the door behind her. He listened to her footsteps fade down the spiraling staircase until they no more before he closed the door. He wondered if there was even a point of closing the door with a vampire as his neighbor.
