In Tamriel, the two moons are of great importance to the feline Khajiit, the cat-like humanoids that roam Elsweyr and beyond. The two moons Masser and Secunda have a unique relationship with this unusual but intriguing race.
Kazhad-dar was born under a celestial event known as a "Third moon", in which Masser and Secunda align. This event is of great importance, as those born under this are rumoured to become the Mane, the traditional leader of the Khajiit, only there is one Mane in spirit, and his soul transfers into the new body when this event takes place.
However, Kazhad-dar was born in the rages of a fearsome battle, his mother the wife of a Khajiiti general who was fighting the Empire from Cyrodiil, the same Empire that was waging a war on Nirn for complete power over all.
By the end of this battle, the natives of Cyrodill, also known as the Imperials, had easily won over the smaller and lesser Khajiiti army, cutting down ranks of foot soldiers and setting the battlefield ablaze with fire, ice and shock spells. The Imperials were renowned for their battlemages, who were some of the best Magicka users not only among the Empire, but on all of Tamriel.
As the Imperial army looted and defiled the dead, the higher ranking officials searched the enemy encampments, searching for intelligence and information, as well as gold and treasures to keep the Empire's heart beating.
Saerus Tharn, a lowly figure of the Tharn family house, was a newly appointed battlemage and he had caused a greivious amount of carnage on the battlefield only moments before.
As the sweat dripped from his brow and he wiped blood from his eyes and face, he approached one of the bigger tents and entered cautiously, holding his powerful staff in front of him, ready to strike.
The tent was large and well adorned, with a soft carpet laid down and plenty of washing facilties and eating spaces. Lanterns were strung along the inside, casting a dim but bright enough light across the area. Over in the corner there was a small desk.
Saerus approached and saw there was nothing but blank parchment and a quill. He quickly went through the draws of the desk but found nothing but war plans and a few dusty scrolls. He huffed to himself and turned on his heel, satisfied that there was nothing of interest or real value, and went to leave.
Until he heard something. He stopped and turned again, listening intently. He heard it again, a faint whimper coming from the opposite corner of the tent. He slowly walked over and used his free hand to pull back a curtain, ready to strike with his staff. At the last minute, he stopped and stared in disbelief.
A small Khajiiti cub lay on the ground, curled up into a ball. He whimpered in discomfort, half blind and hungry. Saerus looked up and saw his mother, clearly dead. She had no obvious battle wounds, so he assumed she had died while giving birth, with nobody there to help her. He huffed again and walked away, leaving the kitten to cry, confused and lonely as it first entered the cruel world.
Saerus left the tent and emerged back outside, the smell of death and decaying bodies filling his nostrils. As he stood on the hill, he could see the sun rising, casting its rays of light across the war-torn battlefield. He saw the destruction, the death, the unremarkable loss of life. He sighed and cursed under his breath as he swung back round into the tent and took the baby cub, holding it to his armoured chest with his free arm.
Saerus decided there would be no more death today.

Hi guys I am new to this site but not new to writing, spent a lot of my teenage years writing short stories and long ones and I loved it! Obviously as I've gotten older other commitments such as work have sort of got in the way so I'm not very motivated right now but I'll get there.
I know this is short but please leave some comments and feedback on what you think of this and if I should carry on (if anyone even reads it lol)
Thanks for having me and enjoy :)
