Jesse's POV

It was her. The girl from last night. And even after all she had to drink still manages to look beautiful. Not at all hungover. Unlike myself. I woke up this morning with a pounding headache and decided I needed a classic hangover cure: coffee, small breakfast, and ibuprofen. I had no idea that she worked here. God, now i probably look like a stalker. I don't want to freak her out. Especially not after what i tried to pull last night. I wanted to kiss her, that's why i did it, but she wasn't feeling the same obviously and moved away. I'd felt bad for trying something so soon, especially now seeing her face, knowing she hasn't forgotten so quickly.

            Onyx's POV

What is he doing here? God, the last person i was expecting to see today shows up to my work, of course, the day after he tries to kiss me. I wasn't really mad at him, just confused. What could he possibly see in me after only hours of hanging out together? It just didn't make sense.

"Good morning! Welcome to the Two Niner Diner, what can I start you off with today?" I said to him, not really worried about what he wanted and more so how I could get out of this situation as fast as I could.

"I'll just have a black coffee and some toast, please," he said, looking up at me with a smile.

"Alrighty, I'll get that out to you as soon as possible."

"Hey, can we talk about last night?" Oh god.

"Um... I can't right now, I'm on the clock," I said, hoping he would drop it.

"Please. Just a few minutes."

I thought about it for a moment, then finally, "Alright, fine. What do you want to know?"

"If we could try again?"

"What part? The almost-kiss or the drunkenness?"

"I don't know, all of it?" Is this guy serious? He can't be. "That was a joke," he said after a few moments. "I actually just wanted to know if you would maybe consider wanting to go out again."

"Oh, I don't think the girls can handle another night out, Jesse."

"I mean, a night out with just you. A date."

"Oh." I was a little taken aback. No one's ever asked me out on a date other than as a joke. "Wait, you're serious?" I asked.

"That is, only if you want to."

Without really thinking it through, I answered, "Sure!"

"Great!" He said, "Here's my number," he said, taking out a piece of paper and a pen from his coat pocket, scribbling down a number and handing it to me.

"Thanks," I said smiling. "Well, I'll get you your order soon"

                    ~Later that night~

Later that night, as I stared at my closet trying to figure out what to wear, I debated on texting Jesse or not. "Screw it," I said as I looked for his number in my jacket pocket. I finally found it and sent him a text.

"Hey, it's Onyx. Just wondering where we're going tonight?"

"Hey! It's a secret, but I'll pick you up by 7. Dress up! ;)"

"Dress up? Where is this man taking me?" I wondered. I walked over to my closet and decided to pick out a dark blue low cut dress and a pair of white Louboutins that Armani had bought me for my birthday a couple years back that I had yet to wear. I went into the bathroom and curled my hair and did full glam makeup. I know this isn't his first impression of me, but he did say to look nice. I checked the time and it was 6:30. I spent the rest of the time packing my purse with emergency items, like perfume, gum, bandaids, and anything else I might need tonight. 7 rolled around and I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to see Jesse, just as dressed up as I was, full tuxedo and hair done. I could smell his cologne from here.

"Well, nice to see I'm not over dressed," I said to him.

"No, you look perfect," he said, looking me up and down with admiration. "Shall we go?"

"We shall," I replied with a giggle. He took me by the hand as we walked to the driveway of our house. My mouth dropped as I saw a sleek, black, full size limo parked there.

"Wow, you really went all out! You must really like me," I said teasingly. He just blushed. He walked over to the limo with me, hand in hand, and opened the door for me. The inside of it was huge. It looked like it had never been used.

"So are you going to tell me where we're going yet?" I asked.

"You'll see soon," he replied with a grin, still holding onto my hand. This night is turning out amazing already.
