(Koichi's pov)
This stuff usually doesn't happen. I only met Kali last year at school. But we had similar personalities; were both hyper and... probably annoying. Her 7th period class ends in about 6 minutes. I usually wait for her outside. Checking my watch as I get weird stares from everyone. I'm sure the whole school knows about how much I like her, but she's too dense to notice. I don't want to be harsh on her but she manages to fail ELT.
The bell rings. A few minutes after, I see her. I wave and walk towards her.
"Hey Kali! How was class?" I asked her.
"Shit. School fkin sucks and I wanna go home n watch anime or whateva," she says, looking down at her phone. She tucks it in her pocket and takes my hand. I love when she does this stuff. Out of nowhere she'll take my hand or make me hold her bags or books. She might think it annoys me, but I'm glad to be with her.
She takes me across the halls towards the bus lane. "Where are we going this time? Wanna get ice cream or-"
"Nahh we going to your house," she says.
What?? I mean, now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind that. We could watch a movie and maybe... I could tell her how I feel. Or is it too soon? She's mentally ill, she'll probably say yes- and I mean that in the kindest way.
I held her hand while we walked. Our bus was called, so we went out to the parking lot. We share the same bus and live in the same neighborhood. Usually I walk her to the bus because she has terrible direction sense. It's.... kind of cute.
Practically everyone who sees us thinks were dating. We're always holding hands, eating lunch together, or talking. I bet we'd look good together. I mean I'm the one stopping her from getting in trouble, and she knows I'll lecture her if I catch her skipping class.
I help her up the bus steps while I think. We always sit next to each other on the bus, and I give her one of my earbuds to listen to music with me. I'd put on some normal music and she'd ruin it with her anime shit- but I don't mind. As long as she's with me. I hadn't noticed- but I've been staring at her. She tilted her head at me and looked confused. I blushed and quickly looked to the side, looking at the seats across from us. Kali always gets the window seats. Not because I don't want it, but it makes her happy. And that... that makes me happy.

We finally reached our neighborhood. One thing that I love about the bus is what we're the last stop, which means I get to spend more time talking to her. I get off the bus first and she follows after me.
"My house, right," I say, as we start walking.
"Sure, I wanna watch the new MHA movie and you have a dvd player." she says.
"Yea, we moved it to the basement though, so we have more room, but the couch down there kinda sucks." I say, disappointed.
"Damn, guess I'm gonna have to sit on your lap?" she snickers.
"What??" I asked. I blushed bright red and saw her laugh and shake her head.
"I'm just kiddinnn shawty.." she laughs.
"Aha..." I shake it off. I don't know if she knows I like her, or if she's heard the rumors. I mean, she doesn't get off her phone, but maybe someone's told her the rumors...? Ugh, I wanted to be the one to tell her.
I take her hand again and saw her smile from my rear-eye vision. I think there's a chance she could like me back.
We reach my house and I get my keys out of my pocket and unlock the door. She runs in and sets her backpack on the floor. She unzips it and pulls out the movie dvd.
"Lets gooo!!" she says excitedly, waving it in the air.
"Aahaha... okay I'm coming." I chase after her as she runs down the basement stairs, smiling.
She jumps onto the couch and hands me the dvd. I turn on the TV and dvd player, and the dark room gets lit by the screen. I put the dvd in the slot and watch the TV change colors. I sit down next to her on the couch and she falls and puts her head in my lap. I don't know what she thinks she's doing. At that moment, I realize something.
Kali knows that I like her.
She's got to. Why else is she doing this? Is it time to tell her.... tell her that I love her?
