On the train, all Ed could think about was the proposal. He didn't even consider what could happen to him. He survived many things, a rebellion wouldn't be the end. Couldn't. Around a year ago Alphonse had become a dog of the military too. He didn't have to, but he needed the restricted search materials and the pocket watch was handy since it amplified alchemic reactions. Ed knew he was going to be there too. He didn't want him to fight, but he didn't say anything. He wasn't a kid anymore, Ed didn't have the right to interfere with his decisions. When he arrived at the central, the first thing he did was to visit Furher Mustang (he became furher). He needed to see him.

-It's nice to finally see you here Fullmetal. You haven't been much active recently.

-It's nice to see you too. How is Riza?

-She's honestly a nightmare. Pregnancy brain is really making her hard to deal with

-That must be tough. Anyway, what's my mission.

-We located the leader of the rebellion. Her name is Nyx Ether. She's leading the rebellion from the northern mountains. We suspect she might be a homunculus so Alphonse will also be coming with you.

-If she's a homunculus wouldn't an alchemist be a better choice. Without alchemy killing a homunculus would be really hard.

-That's why Alphonse will be coming with you. And the reason you two were chosen is that she was born in Resembool too. You might know her which would increase your chances higher than most alchemists.

After he left Mustang's room, he went to see Al. It has been a while after all. He missed him. They chatted on the train to the northern mountains. He told Al that he was going to propose to Winry. They were both a little anxious, rebellions once a while was normal in a nation but also, the last time there was a rebellion thousands of Ishvalan people and Winry's parents died. They tried to clear their minds. When they arrived General Armstrong greeted them. She was cold but they were used to it. They went spent the night at the fort. They were going to have a long day tomorrow.
