Hi everyone! Sorry the chapters are a little shorter than usual, the story is approaching its end so these a like "transition chapters" before the big ending! Hope everyone that's reading is enjoying it just as much as I'm enjoying writing it :)

Katya's week was pure hell, as she would describe. People on the street trying to talk to her, employees at work talking about her behind her back, harassment on social media; she had to delete every single social media account she had to have some peace. It wasn't easy being without Trixie either. She missed her more than anything that wasn't hers anymore. By Friday, after work, she was binge watching Friends, drinking beer after beer, when late at night someone knocked on her door.
''Who is it?'' She yelled at the door, drunk. No response.
Katya stumbled on her way to the door, and when she opened it, she wasn't happy to see who was standing there.
''Violet.''
''I know it's late, but can we t...'' Violet was interrupted by a furious slap across her face, and got pulled inside the apartment by her shirt.
''You motherfucking cunt! You ruined my life! I hate you!'' Katya yelled, shutting the door behind her right after throwing Violet on the apartment floor.
''Just, let me talk...'' Violet tried, while standing up from the floor.
''Shut the fuck up! Do you know the kind of shit I've been getting? Do you have any idea? I can't get another job! I'll probably get evicted from this place in a few months! I lost my girlfriend...''
''I did you a favor! Thank God she left you, that girl was ruining your life!''
''She didn't do anything!'' Katya grabbed Violet by the shirt again, bringing her closer to her face. ''She was just as much of a victim as I was in this situation. You are the reason it's all ruined. And don't you fucking dare say anything bad about her again.'' She released Violet.
''I wanna help you...Even though I don't like seeing you with her. I'm sorry I said I did you a favor, I know what I did was mean spirited...''
''You wanna help me, Violet? Get the hell out of my house and never come close to me or Trixie again. I don't wanna see your face ever again.''
''I have some information that can help you. And...Trixie.''
''Shut the fuck up.''
''I'm serious. Her managers...they came to me. They told me to post the pictures.''
''What...''
''I was the one who took a picture of you two outside her building. They offered me money to post it online. And, um...they...also provoked her accident.''
''You knew?'' Katya's eyes were tearing up with fury.
''I did. That's why I tried to convince you not to go see her at the hospital.'' At that point, Violet was already crying her eyes out.
''You make me sick, I can't even look at you.''
''Vanessa talked to me when she saw that I posted the pictures...she was right. I was selfish, but I...I did it because I love you...''
''No. You're incapable of loving anything. You don't love me. If you did, you would've moved on and would've left me and Trixie alone.''Violet took a deep breath and a long pause before speaking again.
''Right. Guess I deserved that. Well, I know a lot of things, I can help you gather the information you need to put Trixie's managers in jail.''
''Look for Brooke, she's handling the case. I'm not involved anymore...''
''But I thought...''
''I need to get my life back together. I don't have the energy to spend on anything else anymore. Maybe I'll leave New York, I don't know...'' Katya had a sad but calm tone on her voice.
''But...after all of this is over you'll get back together with Trixie, right?'' Violet sounded apprehensive.
''I hope so.'' Katya paused for a while and wiped away a few tears. ''She's the love of my life.''
''I know.'' Violet put a hand on Katya's shoulder, comforting her. ''Anyways, I've got to go, I'm gonna talk to Brooke tomorrow morning.'' Violet walked towards the door.
''Hey, Violet?'' Katya called, Violet turned around. ''I really hope you find real love someday. It'll do you good.''
''Thanks...'' Violet smiled and left the place.
xxxBrooke: Violet talked to me today. I've got some news, can I come over to you place?
Katya: Trixie won't be her tho, we kinda broke up. Idk if there's anything I could do to help u
Brooke: It's a delicate subject, I really need to talk to you in person.
Katya: kay, come over.
After an hour and a half, Brooke arrived at Katya's visibly messy apartment.
''Girl, what happened here?'' Brooke asked while hanging her coat.
''I'm not in the mood for cleaning. Besides, I'm gonna have to move eventually anyway, so...''
''Well, clear the couch. We need to talk.''
''You sound serious, is everything okay?'' Katya said while picking up the empty bottles of beer from the couch.
''Not really.'' Brooke sat down, followed by Katya. ''Trixie was hospitalized twice this week. She was nearly in an alcoholic coma both of the times. She relapsed real badly on alcohol. Luckily there were no drugs on her apartment anymore, but there were bottles and bottles of vodka and whisky...''
''Wait, wait, wait...is she okay now?''
''She...had to be sent to rehab. They're taking care of her there.''
''Oh my God...'' Katya started to cry, worriedly. ''My girl...''
''She's safer there, Katya. Now with Violet as our witness we can solve this case faster than we thought and then it will be over. I'm defending her legally now. I just came here to update you on everything, you deserve to know.''
''Thank you so much. God, I wanted to see her so bad....''
''I know. And you will. There's a whole team of detectives working the case with me, you don't have to worry about a single thing, okay? Take care of yourself now. And don't worry about Trixie, she is safe.''
''Brooke, I can't thank you enough...''
''I'm just doing my job. And also...I created a bond with you and Trixie. You're my friends. I wanna see you two together and happy. Oh, by the way, a friend of mine owns this really big flower shop in Williamsburg, I told her about your story and she's willing to hire you as assistant manager, if you want to. The payment is almost twice what you make in the convenience store.''
''Oh my God, really? Of course I want it! Thank you so much!'' Katya hugged Brooke.
''You're welcome, sweetie! I'll give you her number, okay?''
''You're my guardian angel, you know that?''
''Nah, I'm just a girl you kissed at a club once.'' Brooke joked, making Katya laugh out loud.
''By the way, who are you and Vanessa doing?''
''Well...we're actually dating now, officially. She's still working at the Pier, but she told me she wants to quit. Did you know she wanted to be a dancer?''
''She mentioned it once, I think...''
''Well, when I told her about my ballet background she got so excited and started to tell me about her dreams of dancing on big stages and stuff, so I encouraged her to apply for a ballet academy. She's applying in the summer.''
''Oh, I'm so happy for her! And for you two! You look great together!''
''We do, don't we? Kinda like you and Trix...''
''Yeah. We did look good together.''
''I'm so sorry.''
''It's okay. It's momentary.''
''It is! You'll be together again sooner than you think. Listen, I've got to go, I got a lot of work to do. Don't forget to call Rosé, my friend from the flower shop.''
''Thank you, Brooke.''
Katya had a good feeling about the future for the first time in a very long time.
