Mileena P. Gilbert the sister of Elena and Jeremy Gilbert. Youngest daughter of Grayson and Miranda Gilbert. Some of her close friends call her Mila.
She can be described as many things. But mostly as ' the bubbly Gilbert '. Before her parents died she was this normal, happy,ray of sunshine. She had a boyfriend, Tyler Lockwood. Life was great, until that night (the night her parents died).
When her parents died, Mileena didn't feel anything. It was like she was numb. Empty even. Like she had this void that needed to be filled. So she decided to officially make Tyler Lockwood her boyfriend. Sure, they've been sleeping together long before that. And this was the boy that's been chasing her since they've met. Mileena was well aware that this "boyfriend" won't fill her void. But maybe he'll at least distract her from her problems. At least until she had to face them.
Tyler was a good boyfriend. Mileena loved him, gave him her all. They had a great relationship. If you don't count the cheating and the lying. She let him do this to her because she felt she deserved the betrayal, pain and hurt he caused her. But eventually, she decided to break up with him.
Even without him she still felt as if she didn't have anyone. She was still alone and broken.
Of course she'd never express these emotions externally.
All three Gilberts coped in different ways. Elena tried to deal with it by acting like it didn't happen. She wouldnt even speak about how she felt(she just wrote in her journal). Which irritated Mileena. Jeremy turned to drugs(he also wasn't very vocal with his feelings). And Mileena went to therapy, because she was having panic attacks and nightmares about that night on the bridge. This caused Mileena's anxiety and PTSD to get worse. She was soon prescribed medicine. She sometimes also wrote in her diary, as a way to relieve stress.
She was no longer the bubbly, happy, witty, fun Mileena. That Mileena was gone. Preferably dead (as Mileena would say).

As Bonnie, Elena and Mileena make their way over to their lockers. Mileena felt like everyone was staring at her and her sister. It felt as if they were new kids. Like they were outsiders. Like they didn't belong.
The three were in the middle of a coversation. When Elena paused staring at Matt, Elena's ex boyfriend.
"He hates me." Elena sighed
"That's not hate." Mileena stated, shaking her head.
"That's "you dumped me, but I'm too cool to show it. But I'm secretly listening to 'Air Supply's Greatest Hits'. " " Bonnie Finished reassuringly.
