3rd person pov.

Ayesha sat on her sofa, once again waiting for her boyfriend. She heard a knock on the door and answered.
"Hey babe." He said kissing her cheek.
"Where were you before." She said crossing her arms.
"When."
"I asked you to help me with basketball and you never showed." She said.
"Oh shit. Sorry I was busy." He said. She sighed as they both went to his car. For some reason she found herself thinking about tomorrow and her study session with Stephen. She would be lying if she said she want looking forward to it. I mean anyone would. Right?
"Where are we going," she said.
"Uum. Food Booth." He said. She was confused. Yes Food Booth was classy but the girls wore the shortest skirts possible and the plunge in their tops were soo low that if they merely bent down to pick something up their boobs would fall out and ass would be on show.. the shocking thing was, it is a family place. She decided to let it be as she wasn't in the mood for another tiff. The car ride was relatively silent. Once they got there he never even bothered to open the door for her. She opened the door herself and followed him inside. They went to their booth and she immediately noticed a familiar cute boy on the opposite side of the restaurant. Stephen. He was there with his friends and a girl. She noticed the girl from his Instagram. Ok so she stalked his insta after their basketball session. Doesn't everyone? The girl was his sister.

Stephen pov.

Me, klay and Dray decided to go eat somewhere. Sydel practically begged me to let her come. I had to or else I would've been whooped by my mama. Once we got there we were immediately seated as the staff were big fans of my dad. Having an NBA player as a father has its perks. One we ordered I noticed a familiar face across from me. Ayesha? God she is beautiful, not just her body. Just her. I cleared my head of the thoughts. I was about to turn away when she waved at me smiling. I was taken aback, as I always am when it comes to her. I waved back as we both turned away.
"Did you just wave at the most popular girl in school." Klay asked
"Yeah" I said.
"What!? Since when did you two know each other" Dray said.
"Since about 3 hours ago." I said. They just looked in shock. They didn't add anything, if they did I would reply with some dry af comment.
Ayesha pov.
"So what are you doing during free period?" Kathrine asked, playing with her pencil.
"I'm tutoring someone." I said.
"Who?" She asked
"Stephen." I replied. She gave me a confused look.
"Who?" She repeated.
"Him." I said pointing subtley towards him, he was copying notes of the board.
"Him? Why."
"We have a deal. I'll tell you later." I was going to explain but the bell went. She sighed and we walked out of the class room. I walked towards the pupils kitchen. This is where our food tech classes take place. It is only ever used at the end of the day so it was empty. I sat on one of the tables scrolling through my phone waiting for Stephen.
"Hi." He said quietly.
"Hey." I said back.
"Sorry I'm late klay and Dray were trying to set me up with someone." He sighed getting his books out.
"Did you accept." I asked
"Hell no." He said. I giggled lightly.
"So what do you need help with." He asked.
"No. This time I'm helping you. So when's your first exam." I said sitting next to him.
"In 3 weeks." He said. I looked over what he had to revise.
"Ok so what subject do you struggle on." I asked. He showed me certain pages.
"Ok so. Raw products if that's in the second shelf of the fridge. Where do you put the cooked products." I asked.
"No where near the raw products." He answered.
"So if you just chopped I don't know raw meat but need to go get cooked meat. What do you do." I asked
"Go get it?" He questioned.
"Nope. You wash your hands and make sure Your workplace is clean of all raw bacteria." I corrected. He nodded. We continued going over the basics then moved on to the more professional side of culinary.
"How'd you know so much bout this." He asked. I shrugged.
"I guess it just stuck with me." I said.
"So you are a bomb cook I'm assuming." He said.
"You know it." I replied giggling. He chuckled lightly.
"Well I learnt it all from my momma. The one and only Carol Alexander." I said. He raises his eyebrow.
"Wait does your mum have a friend called Sonya?" He asked.
"Yeah. My mum always talks to her on the phone. why?" I asked.
"Well. My mum is the one and only. Sonya Curry." He said mimicking my earlier words.
"No way really." I asked. He nodded. Huh maybe our families know each-other better than I thought. We talked for a while about everything and anything. Talking to him was comfortable.
"So tell me. Who on the basketball team does the principal think you'd over shadow?" I asked. He visibly tensed.
"Um well, you kinda know him." He said. I scrunched my eyebrows.
"I don't know anyone on the bas-...  Brady!?" I questioned. He nodded slightly. But Brady is shit at basketball. Stephen laughed.
"Oh shit I said that out loud." I said covering my mouth which made him laugh more.
"What about you?" He asked.
"What about me?"
"What are your dreams. You know mine. What about you?" He said.
"Well I wanna become a professional chef. With global restaurants." I sighed.
"I know it's stupid."
"No it's not. It's completely in your reach and clearly you are gonna be more than qualified." He said looking down. I smiled. Brady always said it was impossible for me to get there.
"Why you so shy." I said.
"I'm not." He defended.
"Yes you are, with your looks and talents you'd be the most popular boy in this school. I mean who wouldn't love a cute basketball player." I said mindlessly. I just called a boy cute. And it wasn't my boyfriend 🤦🏽‍♀️.
"It doesn't work like that. Wait did you just cal-
"Nope. Nope. I did not and we shall never speak of it." I interrupted as we both burst out In laughter. We sat in a comfortable silence until, I decided to break it.
"What's your biggest secret, or something no one knows." I ask randomly. He hesitated for a moment before answering,
"My first name isn't actually Stephen. It's Wardell." He said.
"I like that name better." I confessed.
"Really? I thought you'd take the piss or something"
"No. I like the name. It's classy and suits you." I said. He smiles.
"So. What's yours?"
"Um. I once got into a fist fight with a girl and ran away before I got punished meaning she got 2 weeks detention and a fucked up face and I walked away Scot free." I revealed.
"Damn." He said
"What? She was being a racist mother fucker. I ain't gonna take that lightly." I said. He chuckled.
"You know you do already have a cute basketball player." Stephen said referring to what I said earlier. He was talking about Brady.
"He is hardly a basketball player. I don't know much about basketball but I'm sure for you to be one you have to actually make a basket." I said un-knowingly insulting Brady, not in control of the words tumbling out of my mouth.
"The only reason he doesn't is because his bark is bigger than his bite." Stephen says. I agree. I went over his text book one more time before the bell went.
"So. Same time tomorrow." I said as picking up my bad. He nodded.
"Ok but tommorow meet me in the basketball court near the gym hall ok?" He said gathering his books. I nodded.
"Bye Wardell." I said smiling. He smiled back.
"Bye Ayesha 'the racist slayer'" he said back. I giggled before walking away.
