• SETTLING IN •

A/N POV ::

the beginning of this story takes place in your room, as your playing your video games with a very close online friend who goes by the gamer tag "kodzuken"

Meami POV ::

you sit laying in your bed, playing apex legends with your online friend "kodzuken" you're both playing while calling on discord. "there's a shield here, level 2, i'll ping it" you say to kenma..who is currently trying to finish off another player. "okay." he says, not showing the slightest bit of emotion in his voice, you don't mind it ofcourse, you've gotten used to it now.

you both play for a few more hours, concentrated on winning, about 10 minutes later, your team wins. "YES! KENMA WE BEAT IT, WE DID IT!" you yell, happy that you've finally gotten a win. "yeah, i guess we did." he says, not really caring, since he's won lots of times before, he had just introduced you to this game, and you hadn't been able to win, making him lose each time when you failed to kill anyone.

suddenly you think to look at the time, remembering that it was your first day tomorrow at Nekoma High. "kenma it's getting late, i know we usually stay up, but i at least wanna get a little bit of sleep in before tomorrow" you say, turning towards your computer, where you were on call with kenma. "oh. okay then, talk to you tomorrow." and he hung up.

you get up out of your gaming chair and practically throw yourself onto your bed thinking to yourself what does kenma even think of me..he knows how i look..but i don't know how he does..and he won't even show me :/ you eventually convince yourself you're overthinking things and go to sleep, making sure to turn on all 10 of your alarms, prepared to be tired the next day.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

you jolt up out your comfy position in your bed, to hear your alarms going off. you sigh as you rub your eyes and sit on your bed staring at the wall for a couple minutes..suddenly it comes to you IT'S YOUR FIRST DAY AT NEKOMA! you quickly hop up, and turn to make your bed, but as you turn around you see that your bed is filled with rappers from pocky, a mug from the coffee you had, and a couple of hershey kisses still laying there from last night and you then remember that you had been munching on snacks while gaming with kenma, not even realizing it when you went to bed.

you start to clean up, and you finally finish, luckily you woke up a little too early so you still had a good amount of time. you turn to go to your bathroom and take a shower, and you decide to also wash your hair while in there. after you come out you quickly brush your teeth and hair, deciding to wear it down, and you hurry to change into your outfit (you are obsessed with the indie style btw) that you had laid out before bed the day before.

this is the outfit you're wearing ::

you grab your skateboard and backpack, also making sure to grab your phone, charger, and switch. you run downstairs and grab your bento out of the fridge, a couple boxes of pocky, and a water. as you say goodbye to your younger sisters and mom you drop down your skateboard and start riding to the train while on your switch, you had mastered the skill of riding and also playing at the same time, so that you didn't have to look people in the eye.

when you finally reach the train you get on and sit down across from two boys also on the train, one that looked cute with crazy bed hair, and another that looked cuter with blonde ends, but black hair at his roots. The crazy haired boy smiles at you as he whispers something to his friend, making him look up from his phone at you, his eyes slightly widen, and he quickly looks back down, glancing over at you from time to time.

you awkwardly smile back and place your skateboard under your feet and continuing to play on your switch. "Heading to nekoma?" you hear someone say, and you look up to find the crazy haired boy looking straight back at you, with a slightly perverted smile. "Kuroo." he says, slightly waving at the girl, "And this is my friend kenma, who's also into games." he says to you, pointing down at your switch.

"yeah i am, and i'm maemi" you say, waving back, did he say kenma.. you slightly look up at the boy, quickly glancing back down at your switch to see him already looking at you. maybe his name is just popular, every boy i see named kenma can't be kodzuken. you think to yourself, eating some of the pocky you packed.

As the train arrives at your stop you quickly get up, pick up your skateboard, and head out of the train, still nose deep in your switch. The two boys also exit the train, kuroo slightly speeds up to catch up to you, whilst pulling the arm of kenma, so that they can walk with you. "hey maemi!" he yells as he stops walking fast, you slightly jump when you hear your name, turning slowly looking at him "yes?" you say, slightly annoyed since you were hoping not to talk to anyone.

"i wanted to ask for your number, maybe us three can become friends or something, since i noticed your new." he says, finally reaching to where maemi was standing "oh..uhm okay sure." you say as the boy hands you his phone, you type your contact info into the boys phone and hand it back. "i'll give it to kenma too" he says. the three of you then start to walk together, kenma and you back to playing your games, while kuroo basically talks to himself since the two of you aren't listening.

"but other than that i think you'll love chemistry!" he finishes as you look up from your switch not hearing a word the boy has said. "kuroo i don't think she really gives a shit." kenma says, making you laugh a little, a bit of pink slowly starts to form on the boys cheeks realizing that he's made you laugh at his response to kuroo.

"Kenma! you're so mean to me, i do NOTHING wrong!" kuroo whines, slightly pouting at maemi. "to be fair..he's right.." you say as kuroo's eyes widen "GREAT. another bully." he says picking up his pace, kenma quietly snickers at what you've said, and you smile a little, feeling relieved that you've slightly warmed up to them.

as the three of you continue walking, you see a school in front of you, making you slightly gasp at the sight, kenma looks at you from the corner of his eye, seeing that you're surprised at the size of the school. "welcome to nekoma" kuroo says with that same perverted smile he had back on the train, and you slightly smile back, not wanting to leave him hanging, and the three of you walk in.
