Chapter 2
"Lunch, The First Meat"
(reference will be clarified later in the chapter)
I got dressed into my black and purple dress, with my black nee high boots with the 1 1/2 inch heels. I grab my phones , both of them and off I was to school. My mother drove me so that we could talk and hang out since it was Tuesday and she was to work at the bar tonight. As we were talking about my best friends Hannah and Emily and when they were to come up and visit us. My phone buzzed (the one my mom gave me). It was from Jake? My mom asked, "Who is texting so early in the morning baby?" I thought to myself. If I tell my mom about Jake, than what if I need to tell her about everything. "Um it's just Emily, asking how everything was going."
"No, it's not. Sweety, don't lie to me, you have a face for when you are talking or texting friends/Boyfriends/and bestie girl friends. Thats not your bestie girl friend look. Thats your boyfriend look. Who's the lucky guy?" Do I tell her, or do I not? I guess could just tell her his name, thats all."His name is Jake. And he's not my boyfriend."
"Oh, Jake who?"
"Oh my god! Mom!" Laughter spilled from my mouth, as my two checks turned burning red. I could feel my temperature rising. Why am I feeling this way? "Oh look theres the school, going to be late, mom." I said. "Oh ok we will talk about him later, I want to know all about him!"
"Bye mom."
"Bye sweetness!" As I walked into school I was tackled by the schools football team. They all helped me up onced they noticed I was on the floor. Luckily they were not wearing their pads. "I am so sorry." The quarter back said, "Are you ok? Can help you in any way? Boys grab her stuff ." I smiled with a bit of flirtatiousness. I then suddenly realized I did have some pain on the right side of my body. "Im fine I guess, I'll live." I said. While looking into his gorgeous blue eyes. "Ok good, good… my name John, John Goodman, the quarter back, if you can't tell with the sweatshirt. Where is your locker we will all escort you, and your stuff. I will even escort you to your first period class."
"Oh no that won't be necessary. Any of it"
"No, no. I insist. Better yet, we insist."
"Fine I guess, that will work." As I walked down the hallway I remembered that Jake had texted me. I pulled out my phone and read the text. The text read, "We are going off campus for lunch. We are going to the "Swift at the Roundhouse at Beacon Falls." I was just about to text him back, but then me and my "escort" walked into homeroom, and there he was, "Will you excuse me for a minute John, I kind of have to go and talk to someone real quick?"
"Of course, as long as I can still walk you to your first period class?"
"Perfect" I smiled and walked closer to the back of the classroom to go talk to Jake. "Hey, Jake. I don't think I can afford to get lunch at Swift um…"
"Swift at the Roundhouse at Beacon Falls?"
"Ya. I-"
"Just call it Beacon Falls. Everybody does. And we aren't paying."
"What? Then I am definitely not going, plus I meant-"
"No, I mean we aren't paying, because we are meeting up with a friend that is going to pay for our lunch."
"Oh, yay! Well how are we going to get there?"
"Don't you worry, I have a car."
