Flash Back Meeting the Ball family....
2008 – 2nd Grade
First day of second grade first day in a new school new state meaning new friends for 7 year old Alexandria Williams.
Moving all the from Miami Florida leaving all her family behind her favorite cousins and her best friend who happened to be her 65 year old next door neighbor who had four dogs and would let little Alexandria visit them for hours , she had to leave everything behind and move to Chino Hills California, she knew it was for the better, her mom was offered a better job so she knew she couldn't complain
"Class this is Alexandria Williams she moved here all the way from Florida and she's going to need some friends so let's make her feel welcome and everyone say hi" the teacher told everyone, Alexandria had her eyes focused to the ground she didn't want anyone to see her eyes still full of tears from this morning, she wouldn't stop crying on the way to the school, scared that no one would like her, and she wouldn't be able to make friends.
The entire class said a monotone hi and then the teacher said something that cause Alexandria to look up at her scared,
"Alexandria please tells us more about yourself"
she said smiling down at the scared child. "Well Hi my name is Alexandria Williams I'm 7 years old" she looks around almost no one is paying attention to her except for a young girl who looked like she had her whole attention of Alexandria, with both of her hands supporting her head, "I like to watch basketball with my older cousin and and um ... I don't know I miss Miami" she started stuttering and looked at the teacher like a plea for help, "Okay Alexandria why don't you sit back there with Linzie Ball" and she points out the same girl that was only paying attention to Alexandria.
She takes the seat next to Linzie and smile and the little smiles wide back, "Hi I'm Linzie Ball and this my brother Lamelo but you can call him Melo and me Linz or however you want, can we be friends, I loovvee your hair, omg your eyes are green mine too" she kept on rambling while Alexandria looked to her side and saw the little girls brother not even bothering to say hi, "I'm Alexandria but please call me Alex" she looked surprised that this little girl wanted to be friends with her, "Do you really want to be friends" she quickly hated the question she didn't want to become desperate, but the feeling was quickly replaced when Linzie smiled even wider if that was possible "oh course yes, my only friend is really melo but between me and you he's really stupid all he does is talk about basketball with our brothers"
She made her friend that day.
Flash Back making the team.....
2010 – 4th Grade
"Do you think we'll make it" Linzie looked at Alex with a worried face, Alex just smiled at her to ease her up, " We did good in the tumbling and the cheers and we had everything that screamed cheerleader even our shoes" which was true, they begged their mothers to buy them the cheer shoes to stand out amongst every girl trying out, like Linz dad told them before dropping them off at the try out, "stand out its better then blending in".
They both waited outside the gym days after the try outs with a bunch of the other girls, Alex was nervous but she didn't let Linz see it, she wanted her friend to feel confident that they could do this even if one of them couldn't make it.
They got into the idea of cheerleading back in 2nd grade when their teachers thought they didn't socialize enough with the other girls, she spoked to both moms, Tina and Angeline, told them that the girls both needed more friends and to consider putting them into sports, immediately Lavar thought about basketball but both girl had enough of basketball with melo always talking about it, tried tennis didn't work out Linz ran away from the balls, volleyball didn't work out Alex got hit in the face and said never again out of embarrassment and wherever Alex went Linz went and wherever Linz wouldn't go Alex wouldn't even show up.
