Prologue Part 1/2 | Just a burning memory

Also, as this is some kind of AU, there will be some things changed from the original story. This means it contains SPOILERS of course, so if you haven't watched the anime please refrain to read this before you watch at least the first season. Karatsu City, Saga, Japan; january 2008.

A family of two parents with their only child and a little puppy were driving at the town for a straight hour in a sunny day.

The trip was long enough to make the child fall asleep, as he then awakes after some time and starts to yawn.

-Child: Mom, are we there yet?

-Mom: Almost there honey, don't worry.

-Dad (while driving): Just five more minutes sleepy head, are you ready to see your new friend?

-Child: Friend..?

-Mom: Yes teddy bear. mommy and daddy will be busy for a while so we called for someone who could take care of you and have a fun time playing while we're not there.

The kid was a bit shocked by hearing this, but his eyes immediately start to shine like stars with total excitement.

-Child: OH OH, can Henry come to play too?

-Dad: Of course champion! He will be there with you no matter what. He's like your lil' brother after all.

-Child: YAY!!!

-Henry: *Bark*

After the news were given to the little child, he started playing with his puppy while seeing the city outside the window as time passes by.

Five minutes later.

The familiy arrives at a house. They park the car on a corner of the avenue before they all get out and walk to the house.

The father goes to knock the door and both parents are greeted by a red-haired girl with blue eyes and a turquoise-pink bow with white dots on the side of her head. "Looking pretty young for her age": the parents thought. She's wearing a big smile from ear to ear on her face. The 6 year old boy shyly hides behind his father's leg as he introduces himself to the girl.

-Dad: Greetings! You must be lady Minamoto, right? Are your parents with you?

-Girl: Good morning sir! I'm actually alone right now, they will be outside town for a while. You must be Mr. and Mrs. Wellington. It's nice to meet you!

-Dad: Likewise dear! And this is our little boy Charles.

The child was not the socializing type as he normally gets shy when meeting strangers, specially older people so he'd get a bit afraid sometimes.

-Mom: Come on darling don't be shy, say hello to your new friend.

The mother encouraged Charles to come out of his hiding spot, which he slowly does but there's still a hint of embarrassment on his face.

-Charles: H-Hi...

-Girl: Hello there! My name is Sakura. Don't be afraid, I don't bite.

The girl bends down to greet the little boy and gives him her hand to shake it. The kid doubts for a moment until he finally reaches her hand and shakes it slowly.
