"you're kidding," jisung groaned, listening to more rumours spread about renjun and donghyuck again. only this time, even the ebony class were discussing them - just not negatively. he was sitting in his english class, perched behind a pair of ivory students who were giggling stupidly and then in front of two ebony females who were also being disruptive. the conversations were all a bit tedious now after another two days of regurgitating the topic. his desk-mate, sungchan, was boredly drawing little pictures of random things. at least he wasn't swayed by the general gossip that was sweeping throughout the first years, sourced in the second years and reaching the typically unbothered third years fast."hey, have you been listening to those things? about huang renjun, that is?" he ended up enquiring since the teacher had dozed off during their test and each classmate had finished the paper ages ago. "the rumours?"
"oh, the whole thing about him being a slut?" sungchan frowned, "mhm, i've heard them."
"wait.....what? if anyone is a fucking slut, it's donghyuck! renjun is a pure and innocent baby! he is not a-"
"woah, woah, i get it. i'm simply relaying what i heard," the taller promised, dropping his pencil down to talk with more seriousness. "i don't believe a word of it, you know? renjun's always been really nice to me, since i tend to get lost a lot."
"oh, so....you're not-"
"spreading them? psh, no. i don't really care for things like that, or those stupid wars. and i think you should also know that most of us in the ebony class have his back, okay? we're sharing the stories, sure, but not for the sake of bitterness or pettiness. letting each other know what's going on is the easiest way to build up an army, don't you think?"
oh. i never thought of it like that....jisung inwardly realised, relaxing a great deal and sitting back in his chair. "i get it. thanks, man."
"no problem."
as more muttering and conversing flooded throughout the classroom, it was very hard for the young male to hold in his irritation. renjun had specifically told him to let it go, and that all this nonsense would disappear after a week or so....but it had been a week already, and nothing had been solved. he didn't deserve this, not at all.
"ugh, wake me up when that guy wakes up," jisung asked sungchan while referring to their out-cold teacher. the older hummed in agreement, still doodling on his copybook absentmindedly.

renjun stifled a yawn while laying his cheek against his palm which was propped up on his leg by his elbow. the soccer pitch was full of both male and female members of both second year classes, some wearing the white p.e uniform, and others dressed in the black. they were facing off as usual, for a match that hardly seemed worth it. the chinese teen chose to stay on the benches as he didn't really care about physical education, and there were multiple others like him, lined along the field's edge. he sat cross-legged on the grass, bored out of his mind.
another classmate of his who was ebony's renowned player, though not to the same extent as donghyuck, came and sat down beside him with a bottle of water. "here," he passed it to him.
"oh, i haven't played," renjun scoffed, though took it all the same and smiled warmly. "but thanks, kunhang."
"no bother. i'm sort of worried about you, to be honest."
"yeah, you're not the first to tell me that. i'm fine though. i think this whole thing just gives our school a reason to live right now, y'know? like, something to be invested in as all else is so mind-numbingly unimportant."
"that sounds about right," the raven-haired older hummed. "it's angering though, isn't it? it annoys me, anyway."
"it is....pretty irritating," the younger sighed. i'm more hurt that hyuck hasn't opened his damned mouth to defend me. he knows this is all a huge lie...unless, of course, he started this all in the first place. god, what if he's getting back at me for that night i rejected him again? no...he isn't that petty, is he?
"hah, jaemin, you're our monitor," one of the ivory students pranced over to the stunning boy dressed in white. "you and renjun do the swap, right?" the game seemed to have stopped for a while, possibly a half-time break. the two teams had regrouped to chat to each other, yet renjun was more focused on the opposing side not so far from him.
"here we go," kunhang whispered under his breath, obviously watching what he was.
"mhm, i do," jaemin responded softly, playing with one of the many piercings in his ears with a heap of disinterest. "what about it?"
"you must've known from ages ago then. that he sends all those guys away from hyuck's room probably for himself."
"ugh, i don't care," the black-haired teen groaned obnoxiously, "if another person comes up to me and asks me to prove that he's a slut, i'll combust. maybe he is, i really don't care."
the brunette suddenly felt his entire heart sink. his eyes appeared slightly glassy now that he'd heard it from one of the only ivory students he could tolerate. jaemin wasn't defending him either, and he knew renjun worked hard. that he put his all into the night shift and woke up a zombie everyday for it. how could be so slack about this situation when he was watching his counterpart essentially get bullied?
"that's it," kunhang scoffed, getting up quickly and quite skilfully taking a football from the limp bag of them. he tested the weight of it by stalling it on his foot, arching his brow mischievously before kicking it up carefully and landing one massive boot, firing it towards the ivory class team. it managed to knock a boy square in the head, causing him to land on the ground with an unceremonious thud.
"fuck, hendery," another of their ebony classmates gasped, "you just-"
"started a fucking war? yeah. yeah i did!"
shoot, renjun inwardly panicked, scrambling to get up when all hell broke out. take cover.
