Veer sighed pausing the video for the umpteenth time. At last, as per the video, the batter was all set to be baked. Albeit he felt something amiss - the secret ingredient he always had topped the charts with. With eagerness shining wide in eyes, he rummaged the almost empty cupboards. His frown intensified. The last cupboard, which was hard to reach, was left. Standing over the slab, he extended his palm to grab the handle. The search of minutes turned successful the moment it opened, this hardly loaded kitchen somehow had that ingredient. He picked up the container and turned around carefully to get down the countertop. That very moment three creatures, he named life appeared in weird appearances.

His eyes widened. He would have rolled his eyes if anyone else. The three of them were sitting by their knees, neck stretched up. Ayan and Ryan were still decent. Their white attire reaching knees had slit near eyes, they were continuously blinking through. Their big gloves covered hands were in the air, gesturing as if aiming to threaten him- their forever brave father. Then his eyes travelled to Bani and his smile widened. Her long black tresses, she always wished to get a cut, were all in front covering her entire face. He chuckled how she made no attempt in dressing up, unlike his sons. In her usual black suit paired with slacks, she had draped herself with a knitted long red scarf. Despite indecency towards ghosts-the creatures that don't exist in his knowledge, it wasn't hard for him to admit all three looked damn cute. An urge to embrace them in a hug rushed through him.

He jumped down and all three jumped back gulping the lump. He internally chuckled. With no efforts and with no preparations was he flawlessly succeeding in appalling them? In no mood to let go of the opportunity, he positioned his steps to their direction. Through unmatched pace and steps, they hopped back with Bani almost tripping thrice. Until Veer was entirely in front and their backs were touching the wall, the chase was on.

Veer settled down on his knees and detached Bani's hair from the front, pushing them back her head. Running her hands through the locks, Bani immediately pulled them in a bun.

Once Bani was done, he looked at his little bundles of joy. "Now that you all can't evade, tell me what you all were up to?"

"Obviously we had plans of scaring you. Only if you have acted like-"

"Act like my heart was in the mouth when it wasn't?" Veer laughed, shaking his head at Ryan's sudden immaturity.

Ryan was about to answer back when Bani pulled him and Ayan. Unwrapping the white fabric both Ryan and Ayan had on, she pulled down their trousers that they had gathered up their knees despite her several rebukes. Once making sure there was no way they would catch a cold, she stood up, followed by Veer. He observed her shooting a glare. For a moment, he bounced a step back at the intensity. What got into her all of a sudden, he wondered. "Ban-"

"Sh-shut up. Both of my munchkins had literally put in their soul to get you scared. Couldn't you just act like taken aback even for a moment? How mean Veer?"
