She had given her own life up for her sister's mission.

At the start of summer, Cassie was removed from Beauxbatons Academy and taken to live with Hermione. It only took a few weeks until she began dreaming of her memories, and yearning the feeling of home.

She was fed up with Hermione's presence, Hermione is definitely not easy to handle. Hermione started healing magic lessons with Cassie, she said she'd taught Cassie everything she knew. And although Cassie hadn't one idea of the Order, she never complained or questioned. The magic grew onto her.

They built their own cabin out of spruce once they had found the right woods to settle in. Though as Cassie watched the days of July and August fly by, she watched as they slowly ran out of food, and Hermione had grown more impatient the more Cassie spoke on how she wanted " real food " and not just fish, berries, and coffee each day. She wanted flavour.

The last week of August was when Cassie had noticed how much Hermione was losing her mind.

As Cassie began reaching her fingertips to Hermione's shoulder, Hermione turned on her heel. " I know what to do!" she said, and smiled creepily. " I-I can change you, well not you— but your name!" Cassie was in a large state of confusion as she stumbled back and her lips had parted. " What?" Cassie questioned, her voice almost cracked in whisper and slightly dropped her head to the side.

" Your name!" She repeated, and walked forward to grab Cassie by the shoulders. " I can change it. No one will ever know who you are."

" I don't understand..." Cassie nodded with eyes that still sparked with confusion.

" No one will hurt you— because they won't know that you're a-a Granger!" Hermione turned again but this time to the table and picked up a booklet. " Your first name should be kept the same, but perhaps only a slight bit different. Something longer than Cassie, c'mon give me ideas."

" Hermione come on, don't you think you're going a bit far?"

Hermione itched her head and looked up.

" Cassandra! Oh— that's perfect! Now your last name could be something simple, nothing that sounds too fake."

Cassie had blurred out the rest of the conversation, the idea of Hermione actually being serious was hard to fathom. She watched, thoughtlessly, as Hermione paced around the room and occasionally walked up to Cassie to hug her or place to pecks on each of her cheeks.

It had only been a few days when Hermione stopped calling Cassie by her birth name.

For your safety, Hermione always reminded her. But she wasn't so sure.

At midnight before her first day, Cassie laid her head on top of her sisters lap. Hermione was leaning against the wall, looking down at her as she picked strands from Cassie's curls with her nimble fingers and twisted them into a braid. Hermione was humming a tune Cassie was unfamiliar with and dragged the pads of her fingers over Cassie's hairline, soothing her mind until she fell asleep.

The sisterly gesture had seemed to throw her off.

In the morning, Cassie was shaken awake by rough hands, the covers were thrown off her cold body and onto the floor. " Get up," said a voice she hadn't yet steadied. Cassie sat up and covered her eyes from the sunlight that shone through the cracks of the cabin. " What?" She groaned and pulled the covers back over her head.

The covers were again thrown off, " Get up, I said!" Hermione yelled, her voice laced with obvious annoyance. " We're going to be late!"

Still incredibly tired, Cassie sat up and moaned when her feet hit the cold ground. Using all energy in her, she brought herself off the undone bed and trudged lazily.
