My name is Alana Rebecca Briar. It's like Hawaiian and British I think. But it's too formal. So I just go by Bex. It's short for Rebecca. I think that's British too.

My great-grandparents moved from somewhere in England because it was too cold, and they came here, to an island off the coast of San Diego: Coronado, California and started the Atlantis Aquarium and Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center. I like to call it the MARC.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm 16. My favorite color is turquoise, (maybe because that's my eye color?) my favorite food is cheeseburgers, and I love music. Like I said, my eyes are like, turquoise/aquamarine, and they're my best feature. Not to brag or whatever, because the rest of me is pretty dull. My hair is dirty blonde, flat and straight. I run track, and, obviously, swim. But I actually don't surf. I don't like sharks, or really deep water, not knowing what's under me. Ironically. But I'm fine with diving in shallower water. If sharks didn't exist, then I wouldn't have a problem with deep ocean water. Even though shark attacks are rare, I'm probably the clumsiest person you will ever meet. I can and will get hurt on anything, and I don't believe sharks are an exception.

I have one older brother, Brooks. He has the same color eyes as me, dirty blonde hair, tan skin; were basically twins. He's only 1½ years older than me. Most of the year. He just turned 18, so we're two years apart, but my birthday is in a few months. June 2nd, to be exact.

My parents are marine biologists. But my mom mostly manages the animals, and my dad handles the business stuff, as he minored in business.

My grandparents on both sides have been friends for as long as they can remember, and that's how my parents met.
