"What happened to Jason?" I question Matthew. He leans back in his chair, placing his hands behind his head."Well Jason is the head of HR. He is in control of the hiring."
"Wait the girl said that the applications go straight to the manager." I stop as I see a look pass through Matthew's dark eyes. "They do don't they!" I yell at him.
"Yes, they do."
"Then," I start, but I am cut off by a knock on the door.
"Hey Mac, you asked to see me?" I turn to see the blonde from the other day. "Oh hey!" she greets me smiling.
"Izzy yes, this is Chloe Adams today is her first day. I was hoping you'd start showing her the ropes for me?" He asks shooting her a smile.
"Sure, thing Boss." She says enthusiastically returning his smile. I fight the urge to roll my eyes.
"Thanks, I will show her the back room and docks later after my," he is cut off by his phone ringing. "After my meeting."
"We'll leave you to it. Later Mac." She calls as we walk out of his office and shuts the door.
"Hey Roger, right on time as usual." I hear Matthew's voice trail off as we walk away from his office.
"Okay so have you ever worked a retail job before?" At her question I turn my head to the blonde.
"Do what? Oh yes sorry. I have a little experience."
"Exactly how much is a little?" She questions laughing.
"6 years off and on."
"Okay so there's not much I really need to show you then."
"Well not unless some of the programs have changed since I worked for Aeropostale."
"Woah you used to work at Aéropostale?" Izzy asks awestruck.
"Yeah from High School throughout most of college."
"Wow that's awesome!" Izzy says as we start straightening some of the clothing racks and folding some of the clothes on the tables.
"Yeah it was always fun. So, Izzy, right?"
"Yes, oh Lord where are my manners." The blonde says laughing. "Isabelle Larsen" She says reaching out her hand.
"Chloe Adams." I tell her taking her hand in mine. "So, Izzy when you got hired who gave you your interview?"
"Mac did why?" She questions me as my mouth goes into a hard line.
"That bastard." I mumble under my breath. Izzy looks at me out of the corner of her eye. I am not certain if she heard me or not.
"Yeah I heard you and Mac talking before I knocked on the door. Do y'all know each other?"
"Kind of. We live kind of near each other. I met him when I moved here."
"Oh, I see. So where did you move here from?"
"Oh, umm Boston." I tell her quietly. I watch as her eyes go round.
"Wow! Really? What's it like living in a place that big?"
"Noisy..." I tell her laughing. "So, what do we do when a customer walks in?"
"The most important thing to do is to greet them. Ask if they need any help, but don't crowd them. That's very annoying." Izzy tells me with a shake of her head. We pass the rest of the morning with her showing me the register, the computer, the basic layout of the store. It was kids, men's, and women's, then some of the sale items.
