A sharp wind blew against my pale skin. It was a cold winter day, and I was trying my best to get to my destination quickly. I hadn't chosen the appropriate apparel for the bitter cold, and I surely was paying for it. Of course, I would have more time to prepare if I wasn't invite to the duke's chambers so last minute, but that's another story.
All I knew is that I was to be in a serious amount of trouble, and I was ready to pay the price.
The truth is, I used to never care about politics, or the welfare of people besides myself and my friends and family. My selfishness led me to utter ignorance that was only treated when I had to find out what hardships my ruler had bestowed upon his on people.
When I realized what had been going on for the past three years, I knew it had to come to an end. The injustices were severe and the extermination of the less fortunate was simply wrong and disturbing.
Therefore, I had sabotaged my mission from the king himself and began to help the people I had once thought of as trash and dirt. The people I once thought should rid the land and be gone forever. How naïve was I!
And now, since I acted againt the unjust, I am receiving the unjust punishments. It is not againt my will to take these consequences, however, for I am more than grateful to have opened my eyes to reality and I would rather die for what I believe in than live for what I pretended to.
So, here I am, Julia Matkins, ready to accept my fate openmindedly. I only hope that my death will prove something to my people.
In the case that I am to live, I will continue to stand up for what is right until I am dead.
And personally, I will always hold him in my heart: the one who changed my perspective and the one whom I will always love, no
matter what expense.
As I am guided toward my doom/bliss, I realize that I had forgotten the most important thing. And now, my kingdom is sure to be washed with evil unless I retrace my steps and find out who betrayed me.
