The night was dark, the wind was strong and fierce. The storm was bad that night, but so was Abigail Davis's situation. Inside the wealthy home in which her parent's lived, an argument was taking place. Abigail and her parents shouted at one another in their big kitchen.
"Why are you denying it?! It's obvious that you cheated on him!" her mother yelled.
"What? I did not! Why is that even going through your head?! You don't even have any proof!" Abigail could not believe what was coming out of her mother's mouth and why she was even thinking about something so unbelievable.
"I know you! You are absolutely psychotic and you need help! I'm so disappointed in you! You are a horrible daughter and person! Even your father agrees!" Abigail's mother then turned her head to look at her husband, expecting him to back her up.
"Yeah..." he agreed rather sadly. Abigail knew that her father found his life rather unpleasant, one could even say that he hated it. There was one thing he hated more than his life, however. That was his terrible wife. She was very manipulative of him and put her own needs before anyone else's. The truth was that he never believed his daughter was a disappointment and never will. He loved her with all of his heart, she didn't have the best mindset. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for Abigail. To her, she saw both her parents as wicked people who did not care for her at all.
"You know what!" Before she could finish her ranting, Abigail stormed to the door, through the guarded gates, and into her beat down car. Even though Abigail had a very wealthy family, they never helped her out with life. She had to do everything on her own, even though she was struggling. She tried her best at her low-paying job, barely being able to keep her car on the wage.
When she started to drive off, she thought about if she would ever want to see them again. Abigail didn't even know if she loved them or hated them, but she knew that she was going to have to be on her own for a while. As tears ran down her face, she got flashbacks of her brother, whom she missed dearly. She felt as though she could trust him with his life, she trusted him so much. However, when she was 9 and he was 18, he ran away, never to be seen again. From that day forward, no one knows where he could have gone. All Abigail had wanted was for him to come back. He was her only friend that she ever had in her life.

When her high school years came around, she got bullied badly—She never knew why, though. The popular girls and guys at her school would always push her around and pick random fights with her.
"What are ya' waiting for? Fight me," the leader of the group teased young Abigail, in a park by the school. They would then proceed to call her horrible names, causing everyone around her to laugh.
"Hey! Knock it off!" A young man about 6'0 came running in their direction.
"Why? This weirdo your girlfriend?" One of the bully's sneered.
"Because she is a human being just like you and me." He looked annoyed by these people and helped Abigail up. He looked straight into the leader's eyes. "If I see you go anywhere near her, you'll be sorry." He then walked away from them, his arm around Abigail. The bully's watched the two walk away with distance; they felt no remorse for their actions. They thought it served Abigail well.
Abigail kept looking at this boy like he was her knight in shining armor, no one besides her brother had ever actually shown compassion towards her. They walked together, neither saying a single word.
Abigail decided to try and break the awkward silence through her appreciation. "Thank you so much, no one has done this to me. I appreciate it a lot—"
