Teds POV:
It's the day after Sophie's birthday party and I have a horrible headache. I groaned as I swung my legs over the side of the bed.
"Fuck" I mumbled. Sophie's parents didn't care about her at all. That's why there was alcohol at her party. I hated her parents for that, and it's my job to protect her. It's like I'm her best friend, brother, dad and boyfriend all at the same time! I have to admitt, she's beautiful and all, but we discussed it together a couple of years ago, and we are staying as best friends and always best friends. Obviously, I surprised her at her party. I told her that my family were still on holiday and that I couldn't make it for her birthday. But she looked so happy to see me, but it's not always like that... Recently, her parents have been going out alot, leaving her at home. her parents hate me and when I go to visit her alone, I always get caught by her parents and she gets beaten. I just wish I was always there to protect her. Pushing the violent thoughts out of my mind, I got up and trudged down stairs. My mum was in the kitchen making cheese and bacon sandwiches. She took one look at me and sighed, her shoulders slumping.
"You've been drinking again haven't you?" She asked in a soft tone.
"I'm sorry mum, I was just so happy to finally see Sophie again, I couldn't control myself" I mumbled. My mum then got some pills from the cupboard and a glass of water.
"Here you go honey, it will make you feel better" she says with a slight smile. It would seem like my mum doesn't care that I'm a huge alcoholic at such a young age. But she does. When I was 12, my brother bought me some beer and I just instantly got addicted after one sip. When I turned 14, I promised my mum that I would stop, and I did. Last night was the first time I have drunk in 10 months, and trust me, it felt good to be back.
