Frozen Heart

400 19 6

I fell for you,
Like a snowflake elegantly floating to the ground.
Melting at the gentle contact
From your icy touch
Of burning passion.
I fell for you.

My love filled,
Like a winter wonderland
And I -like a child- went crazy!
Bunking days off school,
Just so I could be in your surroundings.
The crunching of my walls
Dissolved under this avalanche of emotions.
I became captivated!
Mesmerised by your frozen features.
Delicate as a single snowflake,
A beautifully crystallised perfection.
Your emerald green eyes,
Like embers aglow
My love for you grew.
The pearly whites of your smile
Twisted my frozen heart
Releasing a flurry of butterflies.
I fell for you.

Sledging down from the highest peak
I felt no fear.
A frosty mist escaping my lips,
In the form of laughter.
The frost bites my smile,
An ice sculptured version of happiness.

But...
Little did I know that all good things have to end.

We built our companions from snow,
Forgetting that snow melts.
And this winter wonderland?
Would only exist
As the snowstorm in my head.
A white blizzard of rage,
That isolates any rhythm.
And the memories we shared,
Would be the icicle of pain
Impaled deep into my chest.
My eyes filled with solidified teardrops
Dripping from the blazing heat of summer.
But you proved to the world,
And you proved to me,
That even the coldest heart
Can have a beat.
