"Ave Maria get up now or else I'll let your brother dump you in the pool", mother shouted. I got up groggily out of my bed, today was the first day of 2nd grade and boy was I excited. "Alright, alright I am coming". My name is Ave Maria like the prayer, not the song. Kids at my school would laugh at me and my weird name some would pronounce it Ava, or even Avocado who do they think they are. My mother told me that my dad was Italian and wanted his only girl to be named Ave Maria like the prayer, not the song.

I got dressed in my uniform, a knee-length plaid shirt, and a white blouse with the school's logo on it. I go to a private school in Virginia, the Potomac school, I heard it's was one of the best schools in the state of Virginia well anyone who said that can kiss my graham crackers! I mean I do have my friends with me Stacee and Jackson I do everything with them swimming, fishing, even T-Ping Mrs.Seinfield's house for giving me a D minus on a poem for English. But the reason I hate Potomac school was because of Timothee J.

He was the broccoli to my soup or dark chocolate to my ice cream he was my sworn enemy. It all started way back in Kindergarten, I was huddled up by a corner in class I had been crying that following night because I found out that I had to go to kindergarten every day, and not watch Dora. Then came Timothee J, "Hey I am Timothee, but my friends call me Timmy" I looked up and saw a blonde-haired boy wearing a dinosaur shirt and shorts, was he talking to me? "Um, I am Ave Maria" I sniffled. He smiled lightly "well do you wanna play in the sandpit with me" he held his hand out to me. I looked around and saw a group of boys laughing and giggling while looking at me and Timothee, wonder what their problem was? I slowly took his hand and he led me outside to the sandpit, me and Timothee build sandcastles and sand angels on the sand till it was almost time to go home then Timothee suggested we play hide and seek; he had told me to say Mississippi 5 times since I couldn't count. "Missi Uhm si Uhm ppi" as I was on my last Mississippi, I heard someone walk up behind me I looked behind to see who it was then someone grabbed my head and faceplanted me right in the sand. My screams were muffled by the sand and sand was getting in my mouth. "Oh dear, stop that right now you're coking her" I heard Mrs. Davis, my kindergarten teacher, scold whoever was holding me down I felt the hand on my neck release, and I was pulled up. My throat was scratchy, and my eyes hurt from the sand I could feel hands wrap around me and take me away, but before I was taken inside the building, I opened my eyes slightly and saw a smiling Timothee look right back at me mouthing "good luck".

Ever since then I and Timothee were on the path of revenge, I once put my pet snake, Rango, in Timothee's backpack I've never seen him scared for his life ever. Then he dumped slime on my hair on the last day of school, took me the whole summer just to get it out. "Ave come downstairs and eat your breakfast and get to school already!" mom called once more. Once I stepped down to the kitchen the smell of pancakes hit my nostrils, I took some pancakes and sat down by my older brother George, he was in high school already and I can't wait till he leaves for college. "Hey, are gonna eat that" I looked up and saw George holding up a fork pointing at me. I jerked his grimy hands off my pancakes "of course I am going to eat that get your own pancakes". He rolled his eyes "well if you wanna get to school early better hurry up" he took his keys and left. I quickly said goodbye to my mother and left as quickly as I could because George was my only ride.

As I opened the doors for Potomac elementary school the halls were bustling with little kids excited to meet their friends. I went over to my homeroom Mrs. Lowe, my friend Stacee was already there, and I heard Jackson was in Mrs. Gilbert's class down the hall. "Hey, guess what I heard Ave?"Stacee said as I made my way over to her table. "What?" Stacee looked around before telling me "Well I heard Sasha tell Michael that Timothee J was gonna be in this class." Oh no just great and when I thought my 2nd-grade year would be good "Are you positive? "I asked Stacee, she nodded her head. "Okay class let's get seated and start to introduce yourselves to each other." Mrs. Lowe yelled to the class. Just as I was about to take my seat, out of the corner of my eye I could see Timothee J smiling his wicked smile and mouthing "have a good year."

It was 12:30 so it was time for lunch, I and Stacee got our lunch boxes and headed down to the cafeteria. As we were getting ready to eat Jackson came up to our table to talk about our summer, then I felt a presence behind me, so I turned around to see who it was, it was Timothee J. "Well, well, well if it isn't Avocado or was it, Ava." I looked around everyone was watching us and giggling, I was about to say something when I saw Timothee J holding something behind his back. "what's behind your back? "I asked. A smirk grew on his face "well your about to find out" he started to look around then out of nowhere his hand came up to my face, then something slimy and wet smeared on my face. Timothee J just poured spaghetti on my face.

As I stood there dumbfounded, I opened my eyes to see the whole cafeteria laughing at me and my mess. Timothee J quickly went back to his seat before our teacher Mrs. Lowe came up to me to go to the bathroom. At the bathroom, Stacee had followed me and helped me clean up, my white blouse was covered with sauce, and was not getting out. After I went to the bathroom, I went to the nurse's office to get a clean shirt. As I walked down the hall to go to my classroom, people walking down the hall seem to look at me and tried to hold their laughter in "great now I am the joke of the school "I thought. As I walked into class everyone's eyes were on me and trying not to laugh. As I got to my seat Timothee J was sitting acting so innocently and trying to hold his laughter.

It was finally the end of the day and everyone was getting ready to go home, Timothee J still hadn't been called to the office or been scolded for what he did, so I decided to take revenge my way. "Bye Ave see you tomorrow! "Stacee called out. I waved back and headed out the classroom door to the hallway, the hallway was bustling with kids trying to get home then I spotted Timothee J talking to his friends. His back was turned to me and I made my way behind him and tapped his shoulder to get his attention. He looked behind him and smirked when he saw me "Well if it isn't spaghetti girl or was it avocado girl" as he said that his friend started to laugh. I am not going to let him taunt me anymore, my hand balled up into fists "my name is Ave Maria like the prayer, not the song." As I said that I let my fist connect to his face, I had just hit Timothee J.

After I had hit him, I started to kick him where the sun doesn't shine, and he kept hissing in pain as I kept hitting, I could see a group of people form around me and teachers trying to break the mob up. As Timothee J fell to the ground I noticed that he hadn't hit me at all, then I heard a voice underneath me say "that's it I am not going to be defeated by a girl" turns out that voice was Timothee J. Just then something connected with my left eye, then my eye started to throb in pain. Timothee J had just hit me right in the eye.

And now here I am sitting outside the principal's office with a blackeye and disheveled shirt, Timothee was two chairs beside me and with a pained expression, I guess I got him good. I turned to my side to get a better look at him, his face was turned down and was filled with pure fear. "Are you okay?" I asked cause why not. He looked at me with fear "F-f-f-ine" he stuttered, what was wrong with him Timothee never stuttered. "Alright Timothee you can come into my office now, next will be you Ave," the principal said. As Timothee stood up to leave, my leg shifted foreword causing Timothee to visibly flinch as if I was going to kick him. That was weird.

I overheard the principal talking to Timothee because the door was left half-open. "Now tell me Timmy why did you pour the sauce all over Ave" I could hear someone shifting in their seat. "Cause I don't know sir, I just wanted to have someone fun with her I didn't think she would come at me as that" Timothee J said. "Now I get that, but you have to promise me you will never do that again to Ave or anyone else," said the principal. "Oh yes of course sir I promise I will never bother Ave again because I have never been more scared in my life sir," Timothee said the last part at a hushed whisper. I turned my face forward and looked at my disheveled self a bandage on my leg, my two hair braids had looked like they have gone through a tornado, and I had a massive black eye on my left eye.

A smirk grew on my face, I had just defeated my long-time enemy and even though my whole body ached, it was worth knowing Timothee J fears Ave Maria, a girl with a name like a prayer, not the song.
