Azari sat in her desk at school, writing in her notebook. She would wonder how Jamison was doing, due to them not speaking since Azari's little clumsy fall. (That lil dummy) But before she could ponder the intercom came on. "Hello this is your principle speaking to you today..." She blocked out the sound, going back to her drawing of her and Jamison sitting on a bench holding hands, the drawing had plenty of red pen made hearts above Jamison's head, it made her sign happily. "And there will be prom tomorrow, we have planned this for weeks. And this year, guys will ask the girls. Thank you!" And as soon as the intercom shut off, the room was filled with chattering about who was gonna take who, Azari gulped.
Prom. The one thing that Azari hated the most. And boys were supposed to ask this time, Azari hoped that Jamison would ask her, even if she knew she wasn't going to go to prom.
Azari made her way to lunch, she normally sat with Jamison so she was a little nervous today. Setting down all her stuff in the seat next to her she pulled out her sparkly notebook and flipped to the page with the drawing from earlier. She rested her head into her hands and oogled at the drawing. She was head over heels with Jamison. She just couldn't understand why people didn't think Jamison was as cool as she thought. Azari continued to oogle when she felt a familiar gaze on her, looking up and seeing Jamison staring at her drawing. She slammed the book shut, startling the boy in front of her. "S-Sorry Jam." She said to the boy, using his cute nickname. He only sat down across from her, a frown on his face. Embarrassed by her drawing, Azari refused to say anything- her heart beating faster than she could think.
"Are you...going to prom?" Jamison asked in his gruff voice, his eyes now on the closed journal. Azari blushed and twiddled her fingers, of course she wasn't going but she loved Jamison so much that she couldn't say no to him, not after everything he's done for her. "Y-yes. But I have no one to go with." Azari said, testing the waters. Azari continued to twiddle her fingers, and with swift ease, Jamison took them into his hands, caressing them gently. At this point both of them were blushing, they're faces both red. "Then I'd like it if you came with me. To prom." Jamison said, the request barely heard due to the gruffness of his voice. Azari squeaked, Jamison taking her to prom? Her heart fluttered as she could only nod. She nodded once. Then she nodded again, then she spoke. "Y-Yes Jamison, I would love to go to prom with you." Blushing, Jamison could only nod. "Then it's settled." He wavered out.
Azari nervously twiddled her fingers as she leaned on the wall, alone. Compared to everyone else, she didn't wear fancy dresses and skirts. All she wore was her regular school outfit that was doused in gold and purple glitter from coming in contact with the other girls' dresses on the way in, Azari also wore red heels, the end of the heel a little bit longer than she liked. But this was the closest that Azari would dress up, noting again that she hated prom. Azari sighed, looking down towards the floor, absentmindedly beginning to wander the floor. She was as lonely as ever again today... she was sure of it, Jamison wasn't going to show..or so she thought.
"Azari?" A voice asked from above, tapping her shoulder. As she turned around and looked up towards the source of the voice, her eyes widened for a moment. She recognized his husky voice in a split second; Jamison, wearing a formal black suit and tie, his hair pulled up so his face was exposed. And it was beautiful. Azari wobbled around, due to her heels, but never the less she turned to Jamison and blushed intensely. "Jamison- wow, you look amazing!" He smiled at her and stuck his hand out. "Care to dance?" Azari nodded, shyly taking his hand. With her hand in his, Jamison wrapped his other hand around her waist and pulled her in. She squealed and stepped towards him, the heels clinking against the ground.
They danced for a bit, Azari's dress shining due to the unwanted glitter on her. In this moment she felt special, Jamison could've picked all the girls he wanted, and he picked Azari. She couldn't help but lean into him, she could smell his musky scent, it smelt very nice and Jamison invited her into it. However due to the action, Azari's heel had enough pressure, they were made for walking from place to place, not for dancing. There was a snap and Azari felt herself falling, despite Jamison holding her, her short knees caved in on her. And she was falling head first to the floor, she squeezed her eyes shut.
The fall never came, no pain, no clattering of her body. Azari slowly opened her eyes, and she was met with Jamison's face close to hers, his mouth open. Azari blushed and grabbed onto him, he saved her from falling. But it only brought their faces much closer. "A-Are you okay?" Jamison whispered. And the girl only stared at his lips. She began to lean forward, her eyes beginning to close. This was her moment, if she was gonna kiss Jamison at any point it had to be now. Jamison noticed her lips coming towards him, he gulped and leaned forward too, their lips about to touch, but suddenly a whistle blower and their faces jumped away from one another. "No PDA!" The principle shouted. Jamison frowned, this was fucking high school and the principal was using PDA rules, this had to be a joke. Yet Jamison pulled Azari back up. Azari sighed and took off her shoes, they were broken. She didn't need them anyways. With the heels off now she was a lot shorter than Jamison, which made him chuckle.
Jamison walked Azari over to the trash to throw away her shoes, and near the trash was an empty dark hallway. No one would see them there, this made Jamison smirk. He starting leading Azari over to it. "W-Where are we going?" Azari asked. "You'll see." Once they were in the dark hallway, Jamison walked her to the wall, careful to push her to a flat wall and not hurt her. Azari gasped and shifted to the wall. "Azari, I have loved you for a long time. I was just too afraid to tell you. But," his hand found her face. "I would like to kiss you, if that is alright with you." Azari gulped and grabbed onto Jamison wrist to keep him there. "Y-yes, you may kiss me." She stuttered it out. She had been waiting for this confirmation to her dreams. Jamison leaned forward and kissed her, he felt nice and she kissed back, her mind raced with happy thoughts. Slowly they both pulled away, they couldn't see one another but they both smiled. And Jamison scooped up Azari bridal style, which made the girl squeak once more. "Let's get out of this dump." Azari nodded and they both slipped out of the school.
