Prologue

"Yes, I can..I already read the case. No, but... Attorney. Nivendez can do it." I answer the phone call of my superior. This man giving me a headache!

Binaba ko na yung linya para i-review ulit yung case nung client ko. Gusto ko minsan maging kriminal. I lost my focus on reading when someone open the door of my office.

" Drop the case! You can't do anything about it. Just drop it!" My superior suddenly shout.

I just look at him then smirk. " No. There's no reason to drop it, Sir. You can leave at my office before I could do something bad on you. Sir." I firmly say.

" You can't prove it that his guilty. Just drop the case!" He said in so much anger. Gago ba siya?!

"How can you say that he's not guilty!" I stand in front of him and cross my arm. "Innocent until proven guilty, so for the mean time let me handle it! I repeat it, there is no reason to drop the case!" I yell back. Argh It's giving me a headache.

"There is! Just drop it, whether you will or not! Drop it or resign, you choose." Ngumisi ito. Akala niya ba mabibili niya dignidad ko. It's fucking no!

" I rather resign than to drop the case." The smirk on his lips faded. "Magkano ba?"

" W-What the hell did you ask?" He suddenly startle.

"I'm asking you, how much!"

"I-It's nothing,just drop it."

"No, sir. Sorry but I can't drop it." Matigas ko pa ding tugon.

"Drop it or give it to someone who-"

"Who can manipulate by you? Just wow. Leave to my office now! If you still insist to drop that case there's no way to do it!" I shout at him in so much anger.

Buti lumabas na yung panot na iyon. Kairita! What he thinks about me? Mababayaran ng ganon ganon lang?! Nag abogado ako at inaral yung iba't ibang Article para lang mag pabayad. Tanga lang,ganon?!

Hindi ko din maintindihan sa mga tao na nag-aral nang matagal para lang sa ganiyan.  Ano pera na lang ba ang sagot sa lahat ng bagay? Kung lahat na sinasabi nila ay nabibili ng pera, yung dignidad ko hindi. Never!

Lumabas na ako nang office para pumunta sa company. Hindi ko din maintindihan si mommy kung bakit ayaw kumuha ng ibang abogado at ako pa.

After a hour nakarating na ako sa company at dumiretso sa CEO office dahil nandoon si mommy. Hindi ko alam kung n'asan na naman si daddy but for sure his visiting the ongoing sites.

"Mommy,what's the matter?" I ask confuse.

"Iha,there is this one site of ours that have a problem. They already sent the problem...may gumuho daw sa second floor."
Problemadong sabi nito at naka hawak pa sa sentido.

" What? How irresponsible it is? By the way who's the engineer of that site? It is our or the engineer of other company?" Sunod sunod na tanong ko.

" It is our engineer, the company already sent an email about that." Mom sigh heavily

"Okay, I'll work for it don't worry." I give her a hug then leave to her office.

Nagising ako dahil sa isang tawag ng kung sino. Kaya wala akong choice kung hindi sagutin ito.

" Yes, hello? Miss Blair." I said in bedvoice

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I call you so early?" She suddenly panic.

"No,Miss Blair. What can I do for you?" I ask halfasleep.

" Attorney. Cervantes please do anything about my son's case. You know his innocent he did nothing wrong. I assure you he's not the suspect." She eagerly said.
