CHAPTER 1
Kyle's POV
It was as if time stopped when I saw him. His beautiful eyes and warm smile gave light to my cold and dark world. I couldn't explain what I felt. I wanted to jump, shout, and dance in joy to let out what I felt.
Everybody was frozen in place as he continued to walk towards my direction while looking into my eyes.
I turned to him as my heart raced inside my chest. It was as if my heart was in a horse race. 'Is what I'm feeling...normal?' I asked myself.
As he came closer to me my heartbeat increased. I took a step back when he suddenly held my hand and--
"Do you seriously have no plans of stopping that?"
"Listen to me Kyle!"
I sighed. I clicked the save button to save my draft and turned to look at this girl who had an angry face plastered on her face.
"What do you want?"
"What I want?"
"What I want? Oh my god Kyle! You've been here for 5 hours already since you moved here, and its obvious that you've been on your laptop for a long time."
I waved off what she said and reached for my phone from the bedside table.
"So?" I asked.
"So you need to get out from your dorm and socialize to the other freshmen out there. You're so negative! How will you get friends when you're like this?"
"Look Chloe, I don't need to talk to other people. I can manage myself, I'm used to being alone," I said.
"Oh really? So you can manage all by yourself? Like duh, who are you trying to lie to? You asked me to come with you to enroll to this school. What'd you eat?" She said as she sat at the edge of the bed.
"I don't wanna go out. I'm not in the mood."
"Not in the mood? Tsk. As always, you're only in mood when you're on your laptop while typing away your stories."
"And so?" She's starting to annoy me.
"You're being unfair. Please Kyle, you need to go out and talk to other freshmen. It's for your sake," she said. I know she's worried about me.
"I wouldn't have been alone if only we took the same course." Now I'm getting sad, annoyed, and what's that term again? Nevermind.
"Tsk. Don't be dramatic. You know that I seriously don't like the course you took, right? You know me better than anyone else. So, I don't want to argue with you about this," she said as she stood up and headed for the door, "and one more thing, there's a meeting for the freshmen with the seniors this afternoon. I will wait for you at the gymnasium so please go. AND, get out of your bat cave already, don't be so negative," she said and finally went out of my room.
Kyle Arvinson Castro, 5'8, currently in the Faculty of Medicine in one of the highly prestigious universities in our place. And that girl a while ago is my best friend, Chloe. She took Business Administration and that is the reason why I'm sulking. Chloe is my opposite. She's kind, friendly, and, approachable unlike me. I had just recently moved to my dorm so I'm still adjusting. New environment, new set of classmates.
