Melanie's P.O.V
I ran as quickly as my feet can carry me across the large, spacious area. It feels so intense, my heart is pumping wildly.
Buzz..buzz.............Buzz..buzz....
Buzz..buzz.............Buzz..buzz....
Who the hell is calling me at a time like this!? I thought angrily to myself.
Isn't it enough I've been given this forsaken task by my best friend, who is sitting around waiting for me. NOW, I have to deal with the idiot who called me.
I pry my phone out of my tight skinny jeans and slide right to pick up the call.
Seriously, why in the hell did they invent pockets on skinny jeans if I can barely fucking put anything there?
Literally makes. no. sense.
"HAVE YOU FOUND IT YET???" A vicious scream pierced through my ears. Oh great, Ms. Can-you-get-it-for-me-because-i-love-you called.
"First of all..... OUCH! I'm deaf thanks to you. Second of all, chill. I think I'm quite close to where YOU left it so I'm going to get it now." I sigh in relief as I recognise the familiar surroundings around me.
"HURRY UP GIRL! You don't have much time!" She exclaimed on the other end.
I stop in my tracks and let my jaw drop to the ground.
A gigantic mob of people had surrounded the seats where Hanifa left her bagpack full of snacks like her precious Oreo's. What am I going to do now?
"Mel? Hellooo? Babe? Did you die?" She asked, really concerned. I mean, silence can be very scary coming from me.
"No, Mel is here. Dude, there's like a HUGE mob of people. I can see paparazzi.... And I think fangirls? I'm sure because it's a bunch of crazy girls screaming. I'm so fucked Han." I groan to my phone.
"DON'T LET THEM STEAL MY OREOS MEL!Oohhh holy shit, you have 17 minutes to grab the bagpack and deck it across the airport in time for our flight!" She shrieked.
I stare blanky at the mob and prepare to face my worst nightmare. Paparazzi and fangirls. The most vicious and competitive people when a celebrity appears.
"Okay Han. I'm probably going to die in there. I love you so-so much." I said in a full-blown dramatic tone.
"DON'T LEAVE ME HERE TO DIE ALONE IN TAIWAN!" She cried dramatically. Wow. How dramatic can we get?
"I love you, don't die in there Mel. Remember to save my Oreo's. Goood luuck." She reminded me one last time.
I giggled and ended the call. Now let's get back on track and get what I came here for.
It's just you and me. I thought to the noisy mob of people.
I walk up to the mob, the feeling of anxiousness burning in my heart with every second ticking in my head like a chant.
I'm just going to ask them to make way so I can just snatch the bagpack and book it.
Sounds like a plan.
"Um, excuse me? Can you make way so I can get my bagpack?" I asked this random girl politely in Chinese. I've decided to go with a nicer approach... before lashing on anyone who blocks my way.
The girl didn't reply and kept on screaming something. It's okay. Maybe she didn't hear me. Let's be optimistic about it.
I breathed in and tried it again.
