Saturday, July 24th 2004, I was born. My name is Phoebe Wilson. I was one of those kids that had a huge family. A family of many uncles and aunts and many cousins. I was always closer to my dad's side of the family. Everyone was always so happy. I was the 10th girl who was born into the family. My grandma had 13 grandkids. 13 of them were girls. I never got to meet my granddad as he passed away before I was born. I was the favourite child. The youngest three was living abroad with my aunt so everyone took me as the youngest child and spoiled me to death.

I was taught how to be a lady from a young age. How to have proper manners in front of anyone. As long as I was an obedient child, I would be spoiled and showered with attention. My grandma spoiled me the most as I was the closest to her. I was an only child. Most of my cousins had sisters of their own but I was never lonely because I always had them. They were my siblings whether by chance or not.

My mother's side of the family was rather small compared to my dad's. I wasn't particularly close to any of my relatives there as I don't see them often. Family gatherings were quite awkward because I didn't have anyone to be with. I was also the youngest there. I got along with one of my cousins there. He was the same age as me though a few months older. He was more of a playmate to me than anything.

In school, I had perfect grades. The teachers adore me. I was popular. I had great friends. Sure we had our fights and arguments but it was nothing we couldn't solve. This was my life. It was perfect. Better than anyone else's. But it all changed when that happened.

Hello. This is the first time I've written a story in awhile.  I hope that this story may help anyone get through whatever it is they are going through. Shit happens in life and sometimes we can't control it. All we can do is choose how we want to face it. Whether it is to run or to fight. We hear words of encouragement everywhere but sometimes things are easier said than done. As long as we believe in our own radiance, our heart's light, our dreams for things to be better.

No matter how small the light is, we will eventually shine brighter than anyone.
