The girl with the red hood strolled down the path through the woods slowly, all her thoughts of worry seeming to way her down. She was currently headed to her grandmother's house since she had fallen ill as of recently and wanted to see her before it was too late. She had also brought along a basket of goodies her mother had baked to give to her grandmother, as a get well present.

The path to the little girls' grandmother's house was a dirt path that led through a pine forest. As she walked through the darkness, provided by the large branches of the tall trees above her, she had decided to look for a small animal that might help her grandma feel better. As she continued down the path, swinging the basket at her side, she heard leaves rustling and immediately got excited.

Although when she moved closer to the noise, it stopped. The little girl pushed leaves aside to get a better look at what cute creature she had found, only to find a truly horrifying sight.

On the ground, behind the bush, lay what looked to be the remains of a rabbit. The corpse of the rabbit seemed to be mangled beyond repair, barely recognizable as a rabbit. Bloodstained grass and chunks of fur and skin scattered the ground, broken bones were also scattered in the mix which added spots of white to the mess of reds and browns on the green grass.

The little girl in the red hood backed away, horrified by the sight. She began to run to her grandmother's house and tell her of the awful thing she had seen.

Although when she had arrived at her grandmother's house, the door was open. She never remembered her grandmother ever leaving the front door open. This caused the fear in her to rise. First a dead rabbit and now the front door of her grandmother's house already being open, this terrified the little girl.

Listening to the insistent thoughts telling her to run home, not even going to see what might lie inside that house, she ran. She ran as fast as her little legs could carry her, back down the dirt path. Through the dark forest, as now the sky was turning different shades of pink, purples, greys, and black, signaling it was turning night. That just added to the list of things that scared the girl in the red hood.

In a matter of minutes, the forest seemed to be painted black making the girl feel blinded to her surroundings. The lanterns along the dirt path were not lit, the trees towered so much that she could barely see the sky, and it was so dark she could barely see a foot in front of her face.

The girl's heartbeat was so loud in her ears that she thought the whole forest could hear it. She looked around trying to get a grasp of where she was and where she was going, but everywhere she looked, it was pitch black. Suddenly a ferocious growl sounded throughout the forest, scaring the little girl half to death.

She turned to the left, following the sound, and saw glowing amber eyes staring at her. The eyes pierced through the little girl as if she was the wolf's next victim. Which she was.

It happened so fast that the little girl couldn't comprehend what was happening. A scream ripped through the little girl's throat but was soon cut off. The wolf's weight on her own and its jaw clamped around her neck. The flesh tore to splatter blood against the forest floor.

The night was cold and everybody heard the scream of the little girl. Although when they went to check on her the next morning since she had never come home, all that was left was the blood-stained red cloak of the little girl.
