I walked up to the stool nervously as all eyes fell on me. I had no idea what this would be like.

The old witch placed the hat on my head and a voice infiltrated my mind.

Avis Barnes, I have long awaited you.

This shocked me a lot as it was a brief decision to move to Scotland.

"RAVENCLAW!" The hat exclaimed. I hopped of the stool and made my way over to the cheering table.

Food appeared on the table as I was the last to be sorted. A boy walked over to me with a charming smile.

"Hey there, I'm James Zabini." He said. I smiled at him and replied. "Avis Barnes." I said.

"What year are you?" He asked. "Fifth year I believe." I said. "Same." He said and walked back over to his group of friends.

Seems I have already made a friend.

"Look it's my brother's newest bitch." I boy said as I walked to my class. I stopped and glared at the source of the voice.

A boy that looked almost identical to James was standing there with the Malfoy guy.

"And who might you be?" I sassed. "I'm Blaise Zabini the better looking twin." He said with a smirk.

Better looking my ass. "Well for your information Blaise I'd say my defense teacher looked better than you." I said earning a glare from Blaise.

I smirked and walked off. Someone quickly grabbed on my arm and I turned around stunned.

"You didn't just tell off Blaise Zabini!" Hermione exclaimed. "Oh but I did." I said with a smirk.

"And I can't believe Malfoy didn't say anything about it!" Hermione said with a laugh. "Someone needed to tell them." I said.

"Now come on, I can't afford to be late for my first class." Hermione said as she pulled me which made me groan.

We hadn't done defense against the dark arts at Beuxbatons but I knew everything Umbridge had told us.

And guess what? I earned myself detention on the very first day of class for siding with Harry.

So now I have detention with a psycho pink lady. Kermit the frog looks better than her.
