Life After the Loss

Luke was silent during the drive to their getaway. Darlyne and Angelyne were sleeping and he was driving for three hours already. He is also tired, but he shouldn't sleep. So he busied himself with various thoughts. Until he remembered that night. That night when a man named Frank made him restless.

Could it be really possible that the Angelica he was referring to is... Angelica Andrew?

Her loss for seven years.. The lost body.. The accident, which could've damaged her brain.. It's possible, yes. Oh God, it really is possible.

''Welcome back sir!'' a staff greeted them as soon as they arrived. They settled themselves and went to the beach after. Luke was seated, watching the girls having a good time at the clear sea. ''Dad! Come here!'' Angelyne shouted. Angelica, I'm not thinking of you, I will not, I will enjoy myself with my new family, Luke chanted while he was approaching them.

After swimming, they had dinner at the seaside and watched a movie before they went to bed.

''Thanks for giving another try, Luke.''

She kissed him. Soft, chaste, desparate, needing kiss. She had put all of her love with that kiss.

Luke responded, doubtful at first. He kissed her, from her mouth, her earlobes, her neck, as his hand slowly moved to undress his wife.

''Luke..'' Darlyne said enticingly, encouraging him to continue. He did.

''I love you Luke'' Darlyne's last word as she was swept with passion and pleasure.

The sun was bright when Luke woke up. ''Morning, Love.'' Darlyne greeted. ''Oh, morning. My bad, I woke up late.'' ''That's just okay. You must be tired from all the tensions around. Oh, breakfast is here, by the way.'' she got the tray on the table.

Luke held her hand, ''Thanks for everything, Darlyne. I swear, I'll do my part in saving this relationship.''

For the rest of their vacation, they just did the same things: wake up, tour around the town, talk and watch movies, sleep. But this vacation had successfully completed its aim. Luke is slowly getting over the loss of Angelica and his relationship with Darlyne is getting better. Darlyne had also noticed this, and she seemed to have ''softened'' on the late Angelica.

They decided to visit her. ''You sure about this, dear?'' Luke asked Darlyne. ''Indeed, I am. I have a lot to say to her. I have lots of thanks and apologies.'' she smiled.

''Hey, Angel. How's life? Nah, we're fine and getting better. Oh! Let me introduce to you my wife and our daughter. This is Darlyne, and I know you know her, well, you used to stalk me, haha. And this is Angelyne.''

''Hey Angelica. I am Angelyne. Are you in heaven? Is it cool there? My mom told me it's the nicest place there is. Is that true?''

''Angelica. The fact that you once stalked Luke and me was news. Like really. I wish I had a chance to meet you. We were schoolmates then and I just didn't know. Well, ummm, sorry for I loathed you. And, thanks.''
