A Test To My Boyfriend(Short Story)

Sabi nila kung magmamahal ka humanda kang masaktan dahil kahit anong pagmamahal yan eh,

Masasaktan ka lang...

Pero ito ang maganda sa love nasasaktan ka... kasi mahal mo.

So right diba? Pero kasi minsan hindi mo na alam kung faithful ba siya o hindi...

Ako nga pala si Lannie Jane Villarasa, fourth year college ang course ko Fashion Designing.

Sorry guys, pero meron na akong boyfriend si Steven Klein Tarano, dating playboy yan ako lang daw nagpatino...

Pero hindi ko maiwasang maghinala sa boyfriend ko kahit ang sweet niya sa akin na parati niya akong sinusurprise at napapaiyak sa tuwa..

Ako kasi ang second girlfriend niya from a 1 year relationship, actually bestfriends kami noon pa kaya alam ko kung sino at ano siya at bata pa kami nung nagustuhan ko siya. Yung ex niya si Kaye, first love niya yun. When I found out that they were “it”. I almost cried in front of them good thing I didn’t, when Kaye and Steven broke up because of third party, he had much emotional stress, he was being a bad boy, always drinking, smoking, not going to class and being a womanizer. I was always there for him, Then he told me to help him forget. We did a step by step process, keeping busy and stuff then there came a time when I asked him to ask someone on a date then I was dumbfounded. He asked me!! I was happy and shocked. On the date day he told me that he likes me and I can’t stop myself from telling him that I like him too. Then it struck me, why so fast? Why me? Is he doing this to forget Kaye?

Up to this day we are going 5 months, and its March, graduation!! And to this day I can prove to myself that he still likes Kaye, whenever he sees Kaye in the school he is always staring at her, he doesn’t talk when Kaye is around and we never pass at Kaye’s classroom.

I told Carla about this...

“So what are you gonna do?”

“If I have to let him go, I will. All I need to do is make sure that he still loves Kaye.”

“HOW? Aber?”

“I’ll set up a dinner for Steve and Kaye. I will not tell Steve that Kaye is the one he’ll be having a date with...”

“When?”

“Next week on the day of my flight to Paris...”

“What? What if he doesn’t love Kaye anymore you’ll still leave him?”

“No! I’ll stay if he loves me more than Kaye...”

“Hey babe!” oh it’s Steven...

“Hey! Why you here?” he sat next to me...

“I’ll be going home na, Bye lovebirds... Ugh! Why don’t I have a boyfriend??”

“Sagutin mo si Xander kung gusto mo!!” I shouted

We both looked each other’s eyes and...Laughed!!

He held my hand...

“Babe, so where will you be going when we graduate?”

“You first! Has anybody called you yet? About an Interior Designer job in Australia?”

“Why? None.”
