Darkness fell upon me, but I never felt more at ease
For the moon shined her light on me, after hearing all my pleas.
I have finally found home here, in the place where I reside,
Because the moon brought me here, and now I don't have to hide.
Before, I patiently I waited, for answers to come to mind,
But actions are what did it, for me to make this find.
I was falling into a hole, of my own destructive thought,
And it got worse and worse and worse until finally it did not.
And what made it stop, was the devoted love of one man
Who cared for me and listened to me, and thus I developed a plan.
I had to get away from that barren, depressive land,
And I could not have done it without Selene's helping hand.
She came to me in the night and she lifted up my chin,
Telling me that all was well, and that my grandpa lives again.
From that moment on, I knew all would be okay,
And all I had to do now, was figure out a way.
Fortune seemed to find its way to me, handing me cash left and right,
And it all added up to just enough, to get me home that one night.
I was rejected by my family, receiving no help at all,
So I figured it out on my own with just making the right call.
I packed my things, said goodbye, and on my way I went.
I took a cab and hopped a train, and I must say it was money well spent.
My Love picked me up from the station in the dead of the night,
And I was so happy to be with him, that I can't fully express my delight.
He wrapped me in his arms and we kissed under that night sky,
And I knew that mother Selene was looking upon us with a proud eye.
That was the first night I actually slept, and the first morning I fully awoke.
For before, I was dead inside, my heart and soul veiled behind a cloak.
Life seemed to suddenly lighten, even the sun seemed so much brighter.
And I could finally breathe, for the air seemed so much lighter.
Home at last and in his arms, I'll never forget the journey here.
And I did so much of it on my own, despite all of my inner fear.
I did the impossible when everyone said I could not,
And I proved them wrong, and it was a fight well fought.
I got what I wanted and I can finally say
That even though it was a lot of work, it was worth it all the way.
So follow your dreams, and do what you desire to do.
For if I could do it, then so can you.

PoetryThis is a book of poetry where each poem was inspired by a specific tarot reading. These are all older poems that I wrote around 2018 but am just now publishing for the first time, as they are all very personal. Enjoy!
