"Look at them. Clueless."
The god was standing on a cliff overlooking the main city of the light, where the people that lived there were going about their day as usual.
"When should we attack sir?"
"You attack when I give the orders." Shadow said, looking at the young general of his army, Tord.
"Yes sir."
The two walked back into the main underground where the city was.
The whole city was built with several levels, with the highest in status at the top and the lowest at the bottom. At the highest level, only the god and and his most trusted were authorized access.
The lowest level was where people like the orphans and miners lived.Tord was something of a success story, as it is very hard to move up levels, yet he had gone from the bottom all the way to the top.
When he was very, very young, he lost his only remaining family, his mother. He was about 6 at the time when he was moved to the lowest level. He enrolled in the army at 12, pretending to be from the third level, where people authorized to be soldiers lived. He began working his way up, and eventually found himself getting the highest honor of the army, being Darkness himselfs right hand man.
When he found out that they were going to go to war with the people of the light, he knew he was going to die very young, but very honorable. And he had accepted that.
When they had gotten to the top level, Tord and Darkness parted ways, with Darkness going to a meeting room to plan some more battles and Tord going to his room.
He took out a drawing of his mother she had paid for to be made a year before she died. Even though the drawing was only in black and white, because that was all she could afford, he could still see the color in her icy blue eyes and light tan hair. He gently set the drawing on the nightstand.
"I still miss you Mom... We will be together soon..." He whispered to it, before laying on his bed and eventually drifting off to his usual unwelcoming, nightmare filled dreams.
