I sit in my room waiting for my parents to come home and boredom begins to creep its way into the atmosphere. I'm not a TV child, but i'm always into my phone, and since my instagram timeline isn't exciting, nor my twitter feed, i'm left here to be...bored.

I want to facetime my bestfriend, Sydney, but she never answers, or i would call my other bestfriend, Dae'ja...but she doesnt answer either. Or I would text my crush, but he plays too much. I'm beginning to not like him. I always tell Dae'ja and Sydney about it, but besides the fact that they never answer facetime, I think they're busy. I rolled over on my special spot near my wall outlet that I lie near when I have to charge my phone. "ughhhhh...", I let out a groan as I reached to check what percentage it was on: 87...good, cause by the time my parents get here, it'll be charged, and maybe (just maybe...) we can go out to eat- if they get along. I seem to be in charge lately, breaking up their arguments, choosing whether or not they can go places, its awkward but it seems like if they wont, someone has to.

I stare at my wall for what seems like forever and feel myself begin to drift off to sleep, but just as my eyes close, I hear the sound of a car pulling into the driveway. I stand up and rush down the stairs to greet my parents and to at least try to keep them in a good mood, cause i'm really in the mood for some Fatburger fat fries and a shake. I plopped onto the couch to make it seem like I was just chillin' and I heard the sound of keys jingling. I started tingling just thinking about what they would say, and if we went, we can have a good time.

The door opened and there was my dad, who allowed me to call him Taco, like everyone else he knew, cause...well, you know. He looked at me sitting on the couch and made a weird face.

"whats wrong", he asked me. I was about to ask him the same thing.

"nothing...just chilling".

He shut the door behind him,"oh, because your usually in your room doing whatever you do". I laughed," Yeah...where's mom?", I asked, changing the subject.

"She said she had to stay in late for work tonight, so I guess we should goout to eat since I can't really cook", he laughed. I stood up to goand get my phone and stuff," oh, great... I was going to ask about Fatburger anyways...", just then, an idea popped in my mind,"can we go to the mall?"

"sure...you got mall money?", he laughed.

"umm... I doubt it", I laughed. I hardly ever have money.

"I'm kidding, we can go, Lady", he said as he walked into the kitchen. I ran up the stairs to get to my room and smiled to my room. Not trying to sound spoiled, but I almost always get what I want.

I went into my room and grabbed my stuff. I threw on an oversized thrasher hoodie and grabbed my bookbag (I bring it everywhere) and ran back downstairs. I went into the kitchen and saw my dad eating grapes.

"I'm ready...", I said. He turned his head and put the grapes in the car. "lets go", he said, grabbing the keys.

When we got to the mall, I automatically wanted to go to H&M. Then Forever 21, then Delia's. My father went to some of his stores, so we agreed to meet at Fatburger.

By the time I walked into forever 21,I already had three bags of clothes and accessories from H&M, my first stop, and I already saw stuff that I wanted in window. I began to poke around at the racks and shelves of clothing and recognized a person in a line at the register: Sydney! I ran up and tapped her shoulder and she turned around slowly with an awkward look on her face, then she smiled when she realized who I was.
"Hey!", she said as I threw my arms around her. "Hey, LV", she said. Her nickname for me, which I hated.

"Stop callin me that", I whined,"Its sus". She sucked her teeth,"well, stop hugging me in stores, thats sus". She had a point, maybe I shouldn't just randomly hug my friends in stores. After she got her stuff, we walked around the store together and I looked for some clothes for me. I got a black sweater with Reptar from the rugrats on it and a pair acid wash shorts. That would be nice together. I have a button up shirt at home that I could tie around my waist, too. Yeah, I'm that type of california girl. I was looking at shoes while Sydney was close behind searching the same pile. "These are nice", she said pulling up a pair of orange leather flats. Orange is my color, I'm just not really a flats type person. But maybe I would need them one day...
"eh, why not", I shrugged.
I held onto the shoes as we headed to the register. I looked at Sydneys bag. "what'd you get?", I asked. She looked at the bag,"Mmm, just an outfit for this party".
"oh, when is it?", I asked as we moved up in the line.
"tonight"
"what? I wanna go! Who's is it?",I asked wide eyed.
"Vic's", she said, biting her lip. Vic was cool, but he was Jaden's bestfriend, and Jaden was my crush. I like him, but since he fucks around, I dont really want to be with him at the moment.
"Oh", I gulped. Sydney knew why I didnt want to go. "I mean, you should really come though...just to have fun, thats all".
"yeah...", I said. I was still thinking about Jaden. I'd like to go to this party. But what about him? What if he-
"I'll help whoever is next in line", the cashier said. Sydney motioned for me, "c'mon Ladera!", she laughed. we payed for the stuff and walked out the store. I was still thinking about Jaden and debating on whether or not to go to this party. I want to go but I feel like I'll just be setting myself up for heartbreak. I just dont wanna do that again...
"isnt that your mom and dad?", Sydney said, breaking my thoughts.
"where? My mom shouldnt even be here".
"in front of the food court, see?", she pointed ahead of us and there they were- arguing for everyone to see. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks as people began to crowd around. People around me and sydney started looking, too.
"Hey, isnt that Travis and Adrienne, y'know...those odd future ones?", someone whispered to another person, which made me blush even more. I grabbed Sydney's hand and pulled her into the croud.
"Aye! Thats their daughter, uh...Ladera Vivienne! Whats going on over there?", said the same voice, only louder. At this point, I was angry. Wasnt my mom supposed to be at work? Me and Sydney made it to the front of the court, where my parents were.
"what are y'all doing?", I asked in a hissy tone.My mom and dad both turned to me in shock,as if they forgot about me even being there. Sydney stood close by, watching everything, and people started to leave the crowd.
"uh, nothing sweetie, its just-", my mom started.
"no...tell her what really happened", Taco said furiously.
"she doesnt have to know!", my mom spat back.
"she is obligated to know that her mom is a cheater...", he turned to me,"your mom lied and said she was at work but she went out to the mall with- with some dude from highschool"
"it was just a friend...we were catching up!", my mom interjected. Imet Sydneys gaze and shook my head. She bit her lip, " I- I got to go and get ready...", she said, "text me". I watched her leave and then turned to my parents, who started a whole 'nother argument while I was turned around.
"- but this is the same guy you had a past with! What does that look like?", my dad said.
"It doesnt matter what it looks like, its about what it is... and it wasnt cheating", my mom hissed.
"well, I cant trust a hoe like you...not since the whole 'kissing Tyler' incident", my dad said. What was that about? My mom lunged towards my dad and hit him, and he tried to block it, but she knocked him to the ground. Gasps were heard all through the crowd. Itried to pull my mom off of him but I heard camera clicks- there is always papparazzi in L.A. I looked and saw people with the cameras coming, and rolled my eyes. I stood up, grabbed my bags, and walked towards the exit. I heard the cameras start following me, so I made a run for it while holding in tears. They werent really sad tears, more-so mad tears.
Scratch that, dissapointed tears.
