Whatever occurs around us has its own impact on us and our minds be it good or bad. Children are especially sensitive to happenings around them.
Prachi had witnessed something entirely devastating for her at a tender age. Her whole world had come crashing on her as everything in her life till she learnt the bitter truth had been nothing but a big lie! It surely was to remain imprinted on her mind for life. To top it, her mother’s constant refusal in testifying against her husband and tolerating all that he was doing left her a lot dejected.
For all who ask why Pragya did not take a stand for herself, did you wonder why she agreed for something so morally, ethically and in all sense outrageous in the first place? It wasn’t love! Love isn’t so blind neither is it beyond self-respect!
It was Pragya’s fear that made her do all that she did. Being brought up in an orthodox family where its ingrained in her that marriage and husband are the foremost things in life and witnessing what happens when somebody’s husband leaves her , she had this fear in her mind. If it was just about her, she would have broken off. But here Prachi too was involved. She dint want her entire life to be plagued with taunts and insults. So she chose to endure. This is shockingly the reality of many women. What happens behind closed doors, we really don’t know. Society and its hollow morals and prejudices are the major factors why a woman endures whatever is done to her! Also, enduring seems a far better option than fighting for justice for that is in itself a major struggle!
For those who ask why Abhishek did it, the answer lies in one word – Money! When we become close with someone as in a friend, losing that person is too much! That’s the reason Prachi had slipped into trauma. This was the second blow she had faced and this added to her invisible imprints on the mind.
Coming to the actual explanation of what happens or what happened in the TS, here are a few revelations
1) Ranbir is not a real person. He is just a figment of her imagination.
Sara_imprfctScribblr and PallaviEswarkumar03 got it right here. But there's more to it and that is, the ONS between them too was Prachi's imagination! None of it actually happened. She just went on a trip and returned. She had not met anybody there.2) As asked in the questions section, you would have noticed that Ranbir is similar to Prachi in his characteristics and he is all that she actually needed in her life. Whatever happened in her early life had shattered all her dreams of a prince charming and love forever. And dreams shattering so badly just added to her sorrow. So her imagination churned up a person who gave life to her shattered dreams. If you notice, he arrived at all times when she was quite sad or too happy. A true soulmate is with you both in happiness and sorrow. She detested love but desperately needed it too! And so her mind created an illusion of a soulmate who would be with her both in sorrow and happiness. She trusted this soulmate of hers as well which she never could with real people.
You might have seen he disappeared in the middle. This can be mainly attributed to the games played by the mind.3) Suicidal tendencies are often found in patients with mental disorders. Not all, but in quite a few. It's basically because of delusion. Here too if you observe, she was in a daze. Her illusion too had deserted her and at that moment it was too difficult to take. So when it returned, she was pushed into a daze with a variety of extreme emotions swirling within her. Each step towards him meant a world free of pain for her. In a completely delusional state, she kept moving towards her source of comfort. And that's what ultimately led to her suicide at the end.
Shahana's testimonial-
"When she revealed whatever had transpired between them and how many times they had met etc, something dint feel right. It was really hard to believe she would go in for a one night stand and even more hard to believe she actually started to like that guy.
But ofc, I would have been happy for her that she finally found someone. But the way he would mysteriously show up was fishy. They hadn't exchanged any particulars then how did he find her. Who was he? Why dint they click even one photo? Why was nothing except his name known about him? My intuition too said something wasn't right. I wanted to delve into this matter and the first thing I wanted was to meet him. But to my bad luck, I had to immediately set out for some work. Had it not been important I wouldn't have left. I decided I would look into this after I come back. Little did I know I would be seeing my friend's body when I did! It was a clear case of suicide. Nobody had pushed her that was sure because the kid at the flat infront had himself seen her climb the ledge kind in the balcony. Her eyes seemingly looked at something infront and a smile was present on her face. And that was how she ended her life. Her entire life had been full of woes and unfortunately, her end too was just miserable. I don't know what happened with her. I don't know anything. All that I know is I should have stayed back and looked into the matter right then. If only I had, my Prachi would have been with me today!"So after reading the points above, you'd have realised that Prachi was indeed suffering from a mental disorder. You'd have guessed the disorder as well by the signs.
You can imagine now how just mind, a small thing holds the capacity to create such circumstances and scenarios with wide reaching consequences. We never know what can trigger or cause a mental disorder. They can be traumatic experiences from a long time or just one severe episode. And most of the times, they remain undetected due to difficulty in recognising the signs and symptoms until it reaches a really severe stage. Here, Prachi had two such episodes which impacted her mind a lot.
And for those who feel the end is unfair, I would just say that the end is tragic. It's all in the mind, it's said. But it's all also about the mind.
Hope you all understood the actually significance of the TS.
And about the title,
Mirage - Prachi though refused to accept love, love was basically what she needed. So subconsciously, her mind searched for that love and all it found was a mirage!
Her life till learning the bitter truth about her parents was comprised her while world. And then it just shattered when she learnt it was all a mirage! So hope everything is clear and I have justified the needed. Hope I have done justice to the concept taken.
