Kageyama's Pov
Why is this happening? Why is my Boke...like this? This isn't my Boke. But it is, he's right in front of me. And yet, I feel like I don't even know the person in front of me. My whole world is twisting into an infinite loop. I want to reach out to him. To feel if he's really here. But my arm refuses to move. I am stuck. He's yelling at Yamaguchi. My Boke would never yell at his friends. No, no! This is all wrong. This isn't right!
"Who said we were friends? I mean we are 'friends' but don't assume."
What? Why did he say 'friends' like that? He said we were friends but why did he... Oh god. Was our friendship a lie too? Is our relationship a lie? He doesn't love me, does he? Tsukishima lied, why did I even believe him? Am I really that desperate for Boke's love? Why is this happening to me?
"You truly are a strangle one, Mr. Jabami." "I could say the same to you, Mr. Obami."
Huh... That's strange. Both of them end with the suffix 'bami'. If I remember correctly, the girl Boke scared earlier, her last name ended in -bami. "What the fuck is a Bami?!" I know I yelled at him, but I have the right too. He tricked us for his own sick game. "Tobio! About time you said something! I'm so glad to hear your voice, I truly missed you more than anything!" That liar! "Don't lie to me! You just used us, you used me for your own sick game!" I was fuming, angry, and tired. My heart hurt, I don't want to be here anymore. I got up to leave but something stopped me.
His hands were holding onto mine. They're soft and small... It's familiar and loving. I don't want to look at him. That was a lie. I want to but I'm too scared to face the truth of things. He's so different, and I don't think I can handle change like this. "Tobio, face me. I promise everything will be ok." His voice was different, more serious. But it was soothing, like a magnet pulling me towards him. "I know that this is scary, this is new to everyone. But not facing this... It'll only cause bigger problems in the future." I felt his hands on my face. Tears started to build up in the corner of my eyes from a similar yet different sensation. "Love, look at me. You have nothing to fear." My head turned to face him but I closed my eyes. "See! you're doing great! Now all you have to do is open those pretty eyes of yours." I can hear Tsukishima scold Boke. "Stop that Shoyo. You sound like Kirari." Boke giggled at the comment. 'He still sounds as cute as before.' "I know what'll get you to open your eyes." I felt his breath move to my left ear. "In this school, we can pretty much get whatever we want to eat or drink. There's this special drink I've been meaning to bring to you. It's this special milk from France. Apparently, if you drink it, it'll do wonders for your body. And to get it, all you have to do is open your eyes." My eyes opened faster than you could say 'fancy milk'.
"There you are! Look at me Tobio." I didn't even realize that I was staring at him. The boy who I've grown to love. "Now look at this handsome man in front of me! It's nice to see you!" His smile was warm and inviting, not his usual 'brighter than the sun' smile. It was nice, to look at him again. "Boke..." His hand's still cupped my cheeks while we stared at each other. I had no word other than pure perfection. Despite how different he seemed, I can't help but see him as the Shoyo I always loved and cared about. "Boke... Why didn't you tell us about who you really are?" My voice slightly creaked but I didn't have the energy to be embarrassed. But what confused me is that he laughed. He laughed so freely afterward. "I guess I was too afraid of losing people I care about. Of losing people I love. Of losing you, Tobio."
'He was afraid? How does someone who loves the thought of having their finger cut off be scared of losing people? ' "That doesn't make sense, Boke?" I obviously looked confused because Tsukishima commented on my intelligence, not that I cared to listen to it. Shoyo sat back down on the soft red couch then proceeded to gesture for me to sit back down, which I did in a heartbeat. "Where were we? Ah yes, about our connection." 'This will be interesting.'
No One's Pov
Everyone was once again staring at Shoyo with intense interest. Yumeko was leaning on her brother's shoulder while he shifted uncomfortably under the weight. "To answer your question Tobio-Kun, the suffix 'Bami' comes from our clan. It's the only reason Kei is here right now. At this school Hyakkaou Private Academy, an election for the new Council President is being held." Shoyo had a dark shadow over his face as his hands intertwined in front of his face. His aura was dark and serious, everyone in the room felt it and shivered, well except the Bami cousins. "Ok but that doesn't make sense. What does this election thing have to do with you being related? " Daichi questioned surprisingly without a stutter. "Oh right," Tsukishima continued. "The real reason behind the election is a battle for the title of Clan Leader." The group of teenagers all looked confused as fuck.
Shoyo wasn't a very patient person to be completely honest. So explaining this wasn't something he wanted to spend a lot of time on. "The clan we come from is the Momobami clan, the main family basically. The three of us are apart of side branches, Kei being from the Obami family and Yumeko and I being from the Jabami family." The group was filled with an "OoOo" at the new information. "Wait, I still don't get how they find out this new cult leader or whatever it's called," Nishinoya asked a question that caught everyone's attention.
"Oh, Lord. Here we go again." Tsukishima huffed at the question that Shoyo and Yumeko were eager to answer. "How they find out?" "How they choose?" The Jabami siblings' eyes seemed to turn red with lust, a light blush brushed their faces. "We'll gamble to our hearts' content!" They both stated in unison at the staring group. "We're gambling for our lives value in this election!" "Our well-being is on the line from a simple gamble!" Their breaths were shaky and uneven. Both slightly bent over to try and remain balanced. The teenagers stared at the scary sight in front of them. "BOKE! GET A HOLD OUR YOURSELF!" Kageyama ran up to his boyfriend, instinctively grabbing a handful of his boyfriend's soft orange hair. Shoyo, not knowing his surroundings, grabbed the arm attached to the hand on his head and squeezed. "OI! BOKE LET GO! IT HURTS!" "Oh, sorry..."
"Well anyways! This school is based on your ability to gamble so it's pretty much guaranteed that you'll see anyone from the clan throwing away money in some way. For example, the council president, Kirari Momobami gambles just to keep herself occupied. Kei gambles only when it comes to family-related issues. And Sho-chan and I gamble just for the thrill. I guess you can call it our family's defining feature!" Sugawara looked at the orange-haired Jabami and the blonde Obami, looking back and forth between them. "So you're telling me," His face was strained, uneasy even," that both of my children gamble?" Of course, Shoyo nodded with glee which caused the grey hair to pass out in his lover's arms.
A chime echoed throughout the room. "Aw, what the hell! Stupid Midari texting me while I have guests." Shoyo yanked his phone from out of his pocket, reading the text on his screen. "Well, shit!" He jumped up from his spot on the couch, grabbing his book bag at the same time. "Sorry about this you guys. Some jackass wants a rematch to save his social life." Kageyama reached his hand out to keep his gamble-obsessed boyfriend. "Ummm.... would it be ok if I watch?" A bright blush was scattered across his face from the uncomfortable question. Just as sudden as the question, Sugawara awoke from his unconscious state with a stern and determined look. "I'm going as well. I need to supervise my child. Especially after the scare you gave us earlier."
Shoyo scanned the group to see if anyone would protest from their teammate's request. With a sigh, Shoyo turned to face the door with a twirl. "You can all come if you'd like. But, I will warn you." He looked over his shoulder with a mischievous smirk. "Your whole perspective about people will change." Again, turning his head back around, the small male left the room as the other teenagers followed closely behind. Unknown to the group, the smirk was still plastered on the Jabami's face. A small laugh escaped his lips.
'My cute teammates~ I wonder... how will those ignorant bastards of this school react to you?~'
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________So this chapter is longer than others I've written. Also, sorry for not uploading for a while I had writers block for who knows how long. So I do apologise for that. For this next gamble, should I make a new character or use Nishiyama Katsu, a character from one of my previous chapters. I made him a bit egotisical so I can see him challenging Shoyo to a rematch despite being 3 billion yen in debt. But, I can create a new character if you guys would prefer it.
