! chapter 1 !

three years ago...

i didn't really have any friends. i talked to people in class and sometimes sat with them at lunch but otherwise i mostly kept to myself. one day we were in class and my seat was next to my crush, daniel seavey. i mean have you seen him? he has the most gorgeous eyes and let's be honest he is just attractive. but he has never noticed me. he sometimes speaks to me in class but it's mostly about the work. he had 4 bestfriends but i only really knew one of them, he was called jonah.

t: now miss y/ln what is the answer to this question?
y/n: oh well the answer is 268
d: well well, it looks like we've got a nerd over here

i looked at daniel laughing at me and then the rest of the class, and couldn't hold it together. i got up and rushed out of the classroom in tears, because one thing i hated more than school was bullies.

t: daniel please go and find y/n and apologise and make sure she is ok. and jonah please go with him and ensure he actually does it.
d: ugh fine miss

you went to the bathroom and locked yourself in a stall, but a few minutes later you heard the door open and went silent until you heard someone say your name... it was daniel.

d: y/n?
y/n: please leave me alone, i don't like you and you really embarrassed me
jo: miss sent us to come and see if you're okay...
y/n: okay? why would i be okay? daniel just humiliated me in front of the whole class. so please go away and just tell miss i'm fine

you unlocked the door and walked out to see daniel stood there with a smirk on his face

y/n: stop doing that
d: i'm not doing anything?
jo: stop accusing daniel of things
y/n: yeah ok sorry whatever. now leave me alone and go back to class
d: uh no. don't order me around and don't be rude to me
jo: rude girls deserve punishment, don't you think daniel?
d: hm yeah i think you're right
y/n: well, it can't get worse than humiliating me in front of the class
d: actually it can...

without warning, they both came towards me and jonah pushed me against the wall while daniel punched me, and then they swapped so jonah was punching me

jo: we warned you...

daniel and jonah physically and verbally abused me for the rest of the school year. they made me hate how i looked and be terrified to show up to school each day, but i never told anyone any of the things they did to me. thankfully at the end of the year, they both left along with their other friends and moved to a new school out of state.

present day...

y/m: okay, come on. go to sleep, you've got your first day of school in LA tomorrow. don't wanna be tired or late...
y/n: yeah whatever...

*time skip to morning*

y/m: come on darling, you need to get up and get ready for you first day
y/n: mmkay

i get up and change into something cute but casual. i had a feeling that this new school was going to be better than the old school, and that i was gonna make new friends.

y/n: morning mum. ooo thanks for the toast
y/m: you better eat that quickly and get going or you're gonna be late.
y/n: oh crap yeah! see you later, love you

i got in my car and drove to school. when i got there i went to the reception and two girls came over to me. one was blond, who also looked vaugely familiar, and one had straight dark brown hair. the blond girl spoke up first.

a: hey I'm anna.
f: and i'm franny
y/n: hi I'm y/n
a: we're gonna be helping you this week, and we all have first period together
f: and on that note, let's get going because the teacher is kinda a bit scary.

we all walk into glass and franny tells the teacher you're a new student.

t: hi, you can sit next to franny and daniel.
a: don't worry, you'll be fine.

you and franny sit down and the boy next to you says

d: hi I'm daniel
y/n: hey, i'm-

omg.please no. i was about to say my name, but when i turned round, i looked into the eyes of the person. and trust me. i could never forget his beautiful ocean blue eyes as much as i wanted to. they were so pretty just like him. wait wha-

y/n: you have to be joking
d: oh my god... is that you y/n. you look different and better *smirks*
y/n: i don't want to speak to you. ever again. you made my life hell all because i said you were acting like a 10 year old with jonah
d: ugh whatever. but you look good.

you turned round to franny

y/n: what's daniels deal?
f: okay you know why don't we?
y/n: i like their music but i don't know who the members actually are
f: daniel is one of them.
y/n: what? that's crazy. i can't believe it.

someone poked me and i assumed it was daniel, so i turned round

y/n: one second franny... what daniel?
d: will you have coffee or something with me?
y/n: like a date? uh absolutely not!
d: no, not as a date *sad* but i just want to talk to you and tell you something. the only thing i want is for you to hear me out. i promise if after that, you don't wanna talk to me again, i won't bother you again.
y/n: ugh fine. just this once and just you.
d: thank you so much
y/n: when and where?
d: after school. and I'll take you
y/n: cool

soon it was the end of the lesson. anna showed me to my locker as it was 3 down from hers. someone came up next to me to go to their locker.

y/n: oh sorry, let me get out your way.
??: don't worry
y/n: nah it's good

i looked up and i felt like i just couldn't get away from my old life. first i had lessons with daniel and i had to sit next to him. now my locker is next to someone's who i thought i would never see again...
